"R-really?" I said. I was in shock, he wrote a song for me.
"Yes! I just wanted to make a little thank you I guess, haha." He giggled.
I looked at the words and how they were written. It would really make a beautiful song.
"What's it called?" I asked.
"Not too sure yet, haven't thought of a name." He replied.
I ran to him with a big hug. Although it was just a song, it meant so much to me. I felt so happy to know that someone, especially Shawn, would do that for me.
"And I want you to sing it!" Shawn said laughing.
"Shawn!" I whined.
He thought I was an amazing singer I assume, which I was the complete opposite.
"I'm a terrible singer, I'll just embarrass myself." I said looking down, which was true, I would.
He put his finger on my chin and lifted my head up so I was looking at him.
"Your amazing Rebeca. I never knew you could sing like that, and that's why you should sing more!" He said encouragingly.
"I'll think about it." I said and laughed.
We went inside and he showed me around.
"So wanna make some hot cocoa?" He asked while getting out two mugs.
"Sure!" I said and smiled.
Shawn got out the hot chocolate mixing powder, marshmallows, and a spoon for both of us.
After drinking hot cocoa, we sat down on a mattress outside.
"The skies beautiful." I said gazing at the sky.
"Just like you." He said. My face immediately flushed red, thankfully Shawn didn't see.
"Haha thanks." I said shyly.
"I-I have to tell you something." He said looking down.
Why wouldn't he look at me? He knew he could tell me anything, didn't he?
"What's wrong Shawn?" I asked flipping on my side.
"I-" he said but stopped himself.
"You know you can tell me anything, you can trust me." I smiled to him. What was he so afraid to tell me? I started to worry, maybe something had really gone wrong.
"Are you okay?" I asked trying to see his face.
"U- yeah i'm fine" He said smiling.
"Now, what's going on?" I asked concerned.
"Haha, nothing. Don't worry about it, let's just enjoy the sunset, eh?" He said.
I wanted to know what he wanted to tell me, it was worrying me.
"O-ok.." I said going back to my normal position.
"You know you can te-" I started then Shawn stopped me.
"Let's just forget about it." He said, looking at the sunset. His voice was so cold, like it could just slit through me. I've never heard him with such a tone, something must be wrong.
"Shawn your worrying me." I said after a few minutes.
"No! Don't be worried, please. I don't want to worry you." He said.
"Then just tell me. Im scared something's wrong, I don't want anything happening to yo-" I said then he cut me off.
"I'm moving to New York." He said quickly. I heard what he said, but couldn't even process it.
"W-what..." I said tearing up.
"I said i'm-" He started but I cut him off, I couldn't hear those words again.
"I heard what you said." I said still not looking at him. My voice was shaky, I was in shock.
"I'm sorry Rebeca, I really am!" He said with a shaky voice. It sounded like he was on the verge of crying, so was I.
"No." I said back coldly.
"What?" He asked.
"Why did you come here, become my friend, then make me have feelings for you, then suddenly leave!?!" I yelled as a tear rushed down my cheek.
"I'm sorry Rebeca I-" He said putting his head down.
"I loved you Shawn." I said whipping away my tear.
"Look I fucking know that! Okay? I didn't want this either!" He yelled frustrated.
"Just leave me alone before you do anything else." I said standing up and leaving.
He grabbed my wrist to stop me.
"Rebeca.. Please don't go." He said pulling me to him.
"Then tell me why your moving!" I yelled still filled with anger.
"Music! I got a record and a career there, I can't say no, not to this.." He said, realizing that was so selfish of him.
"I'm so done with you." I said running away. I left his house and came home. My parents were asleep, and I ran to my room. I immediately burst into tears, I couldn't hold it in anymore.
the words 'I'm moving to New York' ran through my head over, and over again.
I was filled with anger, sadness, God knows what.
I eventually fell asleep in my cozy bed.
