(Why hello people, it meeeeeeeeeeeee. I'd like to inform you that this new series is set a while in the future during the nuclear apocalypse. My good friends miscount and Disco_XD all have stories posted on their accounts of this series from different points of view but all in the same universe. The story on miscount's account is Unnatural Disaster and Disco_XD's is Gnapples. Go check them out because they are both S O amazing! Okay okay I'm done. Here, take it)
Weak and afraid: What you cannot be.
Kindness: What will get you killed.
Love: What will destroy you from the inside out.
This is the code that my gang has been teaching its new recruits ever since it began. Since then, lots has changed. Back then, if you possessed any of these qualities, you would be trained and "rehabilitated" as my father called it, then sent back out. Now, if you show the slightest bit of weakness, cowardliness, kindness, or love, you would be cast out of the gang with nothing left to do but rot on the streets like rats. That's actually one of the best punishments. There's always the wolf pit, or the trash compactor, or the slow stretcher, or the Pit of Despair, so be thankful that on the streets, you still have a somewhat okay chance of living. Would you rather be savagely ripped apart by wolves, or be split apart so slowly you that you wish you would have shot yourself, or thrown in a place that the walls are actually closing in, or maybe you'd like to be shoved into a pit with your hands and feet bound together so that all you can do down there is watch the life slowly drain out of you and your vision begin to blur then go entirely black? I didn't think so. Anyway, my gang, Wolf Gang, has been prowling around the streets for as long as I can remember. My father is the leader of the gang, and don't think that's made my life any easier than any of the other gang kids. I may look innocent and fragile with my dirty blonde pigtails and deep blue eyes, but inside, there is a malicious wolf ready to pounce the second you let your guard down. Okay, that's a lie. I guess I'm more like a German Shepard puppy. I can be cute and lovable, but I'm always ready to bite. I live in my gang's underground base. I barely ever sleep, but when I do, I do it in a closet sized space that my older brother, Declan and I share. It's not much, but at least we have a mattress, a pillow, and a blanket. Some members of Wolf Gang who live in the base have to sleep on the cold hard stone with nothing but old metal cans to rest their heads on. The underground base is built in an abandoned mineshaft that got a little... Make over. First, we stabilized it. Then, we cut it to form a very large rectangular prism with a ten foot ceiling. And after that, like any sensible gang, we built lots and lots of torture devices... That sure was... fun? And just like any other toy, it has to be tested. Luckily, my name was taken out of the testing drawing along with my brother's at my father's request, it was actually more like a demand. I thanked him... And then he smacked me. He told me to never be outwardly grateful because it is a sign of weakness. He also said to never ever say that he had done something for me. This would give people the idea that our sacred code had been, well, bent. I know he loves me, but no one else does. Anyway, let's talk about the outside world. Wolf Gang isn't the only gang. There are other minor groups that are trying to climb their way up to the top, but we know they'll never reach it. Then there's Phantom Gang, our arch nemesis and only real competitor. We've been at it for as long as I can remember. We fought about everything, we fought for control over the food markets, river territory, and even little things like wrecked apartments near the heart of Kalispell. I kinda wish that all this would stop, that we could all be friends, but inside, I know that that is a childish thought. Nothing will change the way things are.
Nothing.
