Most days I love rain. Today I hated it. It was the first day of school. For me, it was my first day of high school. I felt the frigid rain pour over me. All I had on was a thin zip-up sweatshirt, so I was practically freezing to death. I heard a familiar screech of a school bus. "Finally!" I thought to myself. The bus headlights broke through the darkness. I held onto my soaked backpack ready to get on. The bus turned down my street, but it just zipped past me. I cursed underneath my breath.
I suddenly heard splashing from puddles as someone was running down the street. I didn't bother even looking at who it was. "Chole? Is that you?" I slowly turned around. I saw a tall, slender, brunette racing towards me. She had a red umbrella, red rain boots, and even a red backpack. It obviously was my best friend Paige. She was so bright and spunky, and I was so alone and tired. "Heyy.." I groaned. "Did I do something wrong?" She said feeling guilty. "No, the bus is taking so frickin' longgg!" Hey, I could've said worse, but since we're waiting for a school bus, I decided to use "appropriate language."
