"Hurry! Fetch Foxdapple!" Screeched Rosetail, "Beestripe is kitting!!"
Lightwing, Foxdapple's apprentice, raced to the medicine den and she rushed out with Foxdapple close behind. They both had bundles of herbs hanging in their jaws. Inside the nursery, Beestripe was in extreme pain. She wished that her mate was with her, she had no idea where Rosetail had gone. The last time she saw her peachy coloured mate was when she had brought her that squirrel from the fresh kill pile. Just as she stopped thinking about her, another spasm overcame her and she screeched in pain. Just then, Foxdapple and Lightwing entered the nursery, they rushed to Beestripe. Sunpelt's kits, Petalkit, Darkkit, and Softkit, were trying to see past Foxdapple's tail, trying to see their new denmates. As Beestripe felt the first kit coming, Foxdapple was instructing Lightpaw to nip the sac and start licking the kit when it comes out. Beestripe felt the sac slide out. And then another spasm gripped her body, and she felt another sac slide out, and after she felt two tiny bodies against hers she, felt this very strong gust of love fill her body, but then she felt another spasm and, out came another kit. As she felt the third kit against her body the love for her kits grow stronger. And as she grew tired, Foxdapple pushed a bundle of herbs towards her, she was instructed to eat them all, and she did. Once she put her head down after eating the herbs, sleep took over her. When she awoke, her faithful friend and mate, Rosetail was sitting with Foxdapple and Lightpaw.
Rosetail asked "have you chosen names yet?"
Beestripe hadn't really thought about it but as soon as she looked down at her kits, she knew.
"The golden tabby is Dawnkit, the tortoiseshell is Frecklekit, and the brown one with the gray ears and the gray tail is Heatherkit."
