She was the only one that could ever make him feel  something real. Happiness, sadness, lust, pain, love.
He loved her with all his cold, disregarded heart that he kept in his chest.

You're sick of feeling numb
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world
That you can understand

She was born mutant, a mutant that could heal others besides herself. If she wanted, large, silky wings tainted in black and gold could appear and either shield you or slam you into a wall.
And when she first attempted healing his frazzled nerve ends, she exhausted herself and collapsed on top of him. But she had succeeded, and he could feel her light body hit his. A genuine laugh had escaped his lips and he had let his head fall back, waking up his savior.
Slowly but surely, his nerve ends healed completely and when she had smiled saying that she was done, he had grinned and leant down to capture her lips with his own.

This life is filled with hurt

But then, without warning, her voice had disappeared. The lovely voice that made him smile whenever she laughed, sang, or just simply talked about a thing she liked. The sound of her melodious humming still remained in his ears, and he swore to himself that he would never forget it. He often found her silently crying in her bedroom, no sound escaping her lips as she attempted to speak. He would hold out his hand, and she would always accept it so he could lift her up in his arms and carry her to his bed. Shortly after, she fully moved into his room and snuggled up to him when she wanted to be cheered up.

After a while, the news of Deadpool being alive found their way into his thoughts, and he would cuddle with her less than usual.
Sleepless nights made him have migraine, and she felt more alone than she ever had. But somehow, she found a way to keep him busy, to distract him from the immortal threat he himself had created. Night after night, she would silently coax him into bed, and there she would comfort him and stroke his head to calm him down until he fell asleep.

He had taken Vanessa, and Deadpool had taken her. Had asked her about him, asked about his intentions, but she didn't answer. She couldn't answer, but he didn't seem to understand that she was mute. So he kept on hitting her, and when Deadpool saw that she regenerated herself, he called for Piotr's and Ellie's help.

The fight ended with Deadpool brutally pounding his fist in his face, and she couldn't bear it anymore. With fearful determination, she stepped up to Colossus and silently begged him to stop the fight. He nodded as he had somehow understood her, and talked Deadpool out of it.
When the trio and Vanessa had left, she healed him with all the power she could muster. It took minutes for his body to return to his full strength, and when that happened, she fell unconscious.

It took three months for her fragile body to regenerate. But when she woke up from the coma, he had hugged her close and whispered sweet nothings into her ears. With still sleepy arms, she pulled herself even further into his warmth, smiling softly. He knew that with her, he had found the ultimate cure for his agony, his pain, and he made the vow to never stop protecting her.
