Flashforward

"Bart!" Jaime called, "stop running!"

"You don't understand!" Bart yelled back as he picked up speed, "she caused you to become evil!"

Bart paused, and sat down on the sidewalk. Jaime flew down next to him.

"Tell me what happened," Jaime ordered Bart.

Bart nodded.

"Flashback... Wait, actually flash-forward, to before you were evil and the civilization was strong. You and Willow had just had your baby-daughter Fiona. I had been born a year or two before. The year is approximately 2096. Before you say anything, for some weird reason that I never knew, scarabs slow down the aging process, again, I'm
Not sure why. Anyway, you, Willow and your new-born daughter were very happy. Since you remembered me from the future, because I'm in your past timeline, you came to visit me when I was little. When I grew up, you began to train me as a speedster, preparing for me to become Impulse and find your past self. But you never, in any timeline, believe you will turn evil... Anyway, moving on, a long time later I'm fighting Inertia. Inertia blocks me and runs into your future house, taking Fiona and brining her outside. He starts vibrating his hand and puts it in her heart. 'My hand stops, she dies,' he tells me darkly, 'Now, I kill her or you sacrifice yourself.' I always want to sacrifice myself... But I can never pull myself to do it. Inertia kills Fiona, and he runs off, proud of his new... his new... kill...

Bart begins to tear up.

Jaime look at him sadly, "But she never... really... died..."

Bart nodded, "But in every timeline I thought she did... I go to your house and break the bad news to you. Willow starts crying and you go into a rampage..."

Jaime looked at himself in the reflection made from water (that hasn't gone down the drain yet), "Why would I..."

Bart tears up, "You grab me and throw me across the room-"

Jaime tenses his fists, "WHY WOULD I DO THAT!" He yelled at himself.

"Then... Then... Then you storm out of the room to find and kill Inertia..."

Jaime looks at Bart, "I could understand me wanting revenge... But I would never kill-"

"-But you did. Willow ran after you to stop you... And you killed her too. Then Inertia. Then you started controlling Earth, along with Black Beetle. Now, in this time, apparently Fiona's back, apparently she never died and she broke both of your and Willow's hearts for nothing!"

Jaime puts his head down, "I can understand that he, or I, was in pain, but that's not an excuse to kill."

Jaime looked at himself in the reflection again, "I can't do this," Jaime stood up, "I don't want this scarab anymore..."

"Huh?"

"People in the future died because of this scarab. I'm not letting it do any harm ever again," Jaime concluded as he stormed off.
