Even though Tyler left, he never leaves Josh's mind. He's all Josh can think about. He remembers Tyler's face. He was concerned about Josh. He was worried, so he came to find him. And all Josh did was shove him away.
Guilt. Regret. Hate.
His dad is surprisingly nonviolent for two weeks after Abigail dies.
Relief.
He still barely lets Jordan out of his sight. Jordan still sleeps in Josh's room. Josh's bruises have mostly faded. He wears long sleeves to school, despite the heat. No one notices.
And Josh is alone.
It gives him time to think. Too much time. He hates himself.
And more than anything: Josh misses Tyler. The feeling is red.
Tyler comes with colors, and colors are lies. Tyler is the truth, but colors are lies. Josh's thoughts confuse him, so he tries to ignore them as much as he can.
