Y/N was sat on the sofa of the aquarium room watching all the different coloured fish float and swim by as she continued to write her song. Much like her skeleton friend, Y/N was a musician but yet a skilled fighter all the same.
The pair usually were seen together composing some sort of tune to play to the rest of the Straw Hats once the long day was over to either ease the tension which was built up by a certain cook and swordsman's constant bickering or just relax with everyone with a nice ballad to sooth the mood.
Ever since you met the musican, you've loved his company. He felt like the father you never had, what with being abandoned at birth on some random persons door step who threw you out at the age of 5 and told you to make your own living. And after many years of slaving away, doing jobs for people including farm work, babysitting, cleaning... Assassination... That was when you found the love of your life.
It was a beautiful instrument. A simple honey blonde guitar with a maple wood fret boards and nylon strings. Ever since that moment, you practiced and practiced, busking for money and became a wide known musical pirate by yourself.
You were picked up by the Straw Hats after you helped out with some kerfuffle on an island they stopped at and you instantly became friends with the overly tall skeleton. You loved his afro, his contagious laughter and not to mention his silly skull jokes.
As you were writing the song, you heard the door open and close with light footsteps following it. Looking up, you saw Brook walking towards you with his violin in hand.
"Yohoho, hello Y/N-san. How is your song coming along?" Brook asked in a cheerful tone. He loved your compositions just as much as he loved making his own. You smiled in return and placed the pen and paper you had on your lap down on the sofa.
"Hi Brook, my song is just about ready. Do you want to hear it? I was thinking about performing it to the crew out on the deck. Care to join me?" Y/N stated as she got up and grabbed her guitar. Brook laughed and replied. "Of course Y/N-san. Hearing you music brings a smile to my face, even though I don't really have a face. Yohoho~" Y/N chuckled and walked out onto the deck.
"Hey guys, I've got a new song and I'd like to play it for you guys. Is that okay?" A series of yeahs and happy cheers erupted from the deck. Y/N took up her usual place of sitting on the swing and placed the guitar on her lap. "This is called 'Ordinary World'. Hope you enjoy it." You played the final chord and a chorus of cheers and clapping could be heard by the fellow Straw Hats on deck. You blushed with happiness and smiled.
"Thanks guys." You felt a slim hand being placed on your shoulder and you followed the arm it was connected too and found Brook standing behind you giving of a happy vibe.
"Yoho, well done Y/N-san. What a beautiful ballad, you really have a talent for song writing." You blushed at his comment and nodded slightly as a way of saying thank you. "I'd like to create a piano accompaniment for it. Would you allow me too?" Brook asked as he lent forward
"Of course! Could I come and help you? I'd love to see how you write on the piano." Y/N cheered as she walked with the skeleton back into the aquarium room with their voices slowly becoming silent.
"Brook has found such a great friend. I'm so happy for him." Luffy pointed out as he watched his nakama have fun together. "Being alone for over 50 years must've been so lonely for him..." Usopp and Sanji nodded in agreement.
"How about I make us all some hot chocolate to add the the calm vibe we have going on? That'll warm everyone up." Sanji stated and got hums in reply. As he walked into the kitchen, he over heard the conversation between Y/N and Brook on how to compose music on piano.
"I'm happy for the pair of you, look after Y/N-swan for me Brook." Sanji said to himself as he closed the door to the kitchen.
They say music is a way of being close to others, I guess Y/N and Brook finally understand what they mean now.

Thank you for reading :D I know it's short but I just had to write a short one-shot after listening to the final track of Green Day's new album (Sourced above!) It's such a beautiful song and I instantly thought of Brook when listening to it. I have no idea why but hey ho.
