Hi, this is my first book! I'm sure there will be some parts that are rough, but I will take time to edit best as possible. There is no schedule to when I update, but I will try not to take too long.
Everything that I write is original and any similarities are clearly coincidences.
Blessed.

I never knew what it was like to be alone until my baby brother died. Lucas died two years ago; he was only six years old. He was different than the other kids his age: quiet and very smart, but he was still the happiest kid around. He died in a car crash. I was only 15 at the time so I didn't drive and I had cheerleading practice till 5:30, so my parents hired a babysitter to pick Lucas up from school. Her name was Jenny. After Jenny picked Lucas up they were on their way to my house, when a tired truck driver ran a red light and hit Jenny's little car. Lucas and Jenny both died on impact.
After Lucas' funeral, I just shut down. I quit cheerleading, my grades slipped, and my started to ignore my friends. However my best friend, Sarah Redding, always tried to be there and help me...as much as I allowed her too. Honestly, I'm surprised she stayed my friend. My parents, Dr. and Dr. Hunnicutt, became obsessed with their work and rarely left the hospital. We could go days without seeing each other at home.
For a whole year, I didn't do much and spent most of my time alone. It wasn't until Sarah and my other friends started dragging me out of my room that I started to pick back up some remains of my old self. Luckily, my friends didn't pull away from me like I pulled from them.
Now my senior year in high school, I have a lot of great friends, but I'm not popular or anything. I don't talk about Lucas anymore. When I did I would see pity pool into the eyes of those around me and couldn't stand it any longer. I am not the happy freshman I was before Lucas died, but I have gotten better. I am just the average person now. I don't think I could ever be as happy as I was.
