Chapter 3

The next morning was awkward since Zelda saw what happened last night.

"I see you kiss him"! She laughed.

"HE KISSED ME THOUGH"! I didn't know what else to say.

Zelda grabbed the Nutella out of the cupboard and spread it on her toast. Why did Luke have to kiss me. I told him no. It's just gonna make things awkward between us and besides I don't even want a boyfriend. I don't know why Luke likes someone as weird and awkward as me. I mean I wear guys clothes most of the time and skate around with a whole bunch of dudes. I'd like to say I am a dude, but I'm not.

"Roni I think Luke has a big crush on you honey, but I know you, Your hard to get". Said Zelda

"That's what I told Luke".

Today was gonna be hot, so we decided to go down to the beach. I wanted to avoid Luke the best I could. I didn't want him. I told him that. But I'm lying. I put my black shorts on and my ruffled bikini top. I put on sunscreen because I burn easily and grabbed my black retro sunglasses.

"You coming"?' I asked.

"Just go without me. I'll be right behind you. The boys should be there by now". She said.

I started to walk down to the beach. Maybe I'll get some icecream. No icecream will make me fat. I thought. The sand felt so nice on my feet. It was warm . I let my feet sink into it. I looked up to see some seagulls. I scanned the beach for the boys and of course I see Luke. This time he was with 3 other really attractive guys.

"Oh for god sakes"! I said.

I quickly found a spot and layed out my towel on the hot sand. Let's hope Luke dosent see me. The sun shone into my eyes so I covered them with my hands. I looked too my side to see Luke and the 3 others he was walking with. No no no! Please don't see me! Ugh he sees me.

"Hey Rachel"! Luke said playfully.

Oh god not again

"It's Roni dumbass"! I said angrily. "Leave me alone I'm mad at you"! I said.

Luke laughed and so did the other guys which I assumed were his band members. Why won't he just leave me alone.

"Coming in the water Rachel"? Luke snickered.

"LEAVE ME ALONE FOR FUCK SAKES"! I shouted. "You've already made me angry can't you see"!

"But Rachel your always angry". Luke pouted his lips and then started to laugh.

Maybe he's just an ass when he's with these losers. Or maybe he's just a straight up ass all the time. I just decided not to talk to him until I heard Zelda yelling.

"HEYYYY"! She shouted cheerfully.

I looked over to see her running down the beach. Go away your only making things worse. She's probably gonna ask them to hang out with us now and then invite them all over to our place later. I should have just stayed home. It wasn't a good idea to come out here.

"Hey Luke"! She said pulling down her sunglasses. "See you've already found Roni. Well you two have fun and who are these handsome guys"?

Lord help me.

"Um Ashton, Calum, and Michael". He pointed to them. They were all pretty cute actually. I mean get in my bed kinda cute. No Roni stop eyeing up cute guys. But it's so hard not to.

One boy with crazy colored hair who I think was Michael layed his towel down next to mine.

"Mind if we sit next to you"? He asked.

I groaned. "No".

I thought this would be a nice relaxing day at the beach but no. Luke hemmings has to come here at the same time as me. Why? Why me? And now all his band members too!

Few minutes later it was just me and Michael laying on the beach in awkward silence.

"Soooo... Your names Roni right"? He asked.

"FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS THE RIGHT NAME"! I said. "Wanna go swimming"? I asked.

"Nah. I'm not much of a swimming person". He said. "I'll watch your towels for you".

"Thanks".

I walked down towards the blue ocean. Finally I meet somebody decent. At least he didn't call me Rachel. I hate when Luke calls me Rachel. Well no I like it. NO I DON'T! Ok maybe a little.

I waded out into the ocean toward everyone. The water was cold. I wish I would have stayed on the beach with Michael.

"Hey Roni"! Jai said cheerfully.

"Fuck you"! I snarled. Jai laughed.

I was now back at home up in my room. Me and Zelda each had our own side. Mine was covered with posters of bands and hers had a few nice modern pictures and a bookshelf. She likes reading. I was listening to my green day CD she I heard a knock at my door.

"Come in"! I yelled over the music.

The handle slowly turned. It was Luke.

"Hey". He said calmly. "Wanna come to my bands gig tonight"? He asked.

"Um I don't know sure". I said.

"Ok cool well see you later I guess". He smiled then closed the door.

That was awkward.
