Luffy grumbled lightly, feeling a hand shaking him. "Lu...Wake up..." A deep voice said to him groggily. Luffy slowly opened one eye, looking over at his brother. "Mmh... Five more minutes..." Luffy said, rolling over. Ace rolled his eyes and smacked his brother on the forehead. "No. I can't have you being late for school again. Besides, I gotta meet up with Marco beforehand." He said. Pulling his brother out of the bed.

"Ugh...Fine. Hey Ace..." the younger brother said. Rubbing his eyes. Ace buttoning his black shorts looked down a his brother, who sat on the floor. "Yeah?" He asked. Luffy got up and started putting his own clothes on. "After school, can we go see Usopp...?" he asked sadly. Ace smiled and nodded. "Course, I told you we could go see him whenever. Well... As long as it's reasonable." He said with a grin. Luffy smiled back, and the two brothers finished getting dressed.

Luffy leaned back in his chair, sighing happily. Ace chuckled at his brothers ridiculous stack of plates. "We gotta get you better eating habits..." He said. Luffy laughed. "Nah! I'm happy with my food the way it is!" Ace shook his head. And stood up, "Cmon. Let's get going, I gotta get Marco" he said. Luffy got up and grabbed his school bag, which was littered with holes and stains from God knows where. "Got everything" Ace asked. Luffy nodded with a grin. And the two went out the door.

Ace had picked up his blonde companion. Luffy was in the back, listening to music. Ace was driving them all to school, the two older teens having a conversation about their classes, and their weekend plans. "Yeah, I got us a fancy dinner planned, then I figured we'd go see that horror movie everyone's been raving over." The blonde said. Ace nodded and grinned, leaning over and kissing his lover's cheek. "Sounds good babe, I can let Luffy stay with a friend over the weekend." He said. Luffy paused his song to hear his brothers words. "How come?" He asked, leaning forward. Ace glanced back at him. "Cause. Me and Mar got plans, and I don't want ya home alone. We both know how you get when you're lonely and bored..." He said. Luffy laughed, "Yeah yeah." He said. Marco chuckled and ruffled the raven haired teens hair. Luffy smiled, he liked Marco. He was nice, and he didn't get mad whenever Luffy referred to his head as a pineapple. Luffy leaned back and stared out the window. Missing his best friend Usopp.

"Luffy" The principal asked walking into his class. Luffy looked at him, "That's me" He said. The principal motioned for him to follow him. Luffy got up, ignoring some of the kids taunts. He closed the door, and looked at the red haired man. Shanks. Luffy liked him, he was like his dad. "What's up Shanks?" Luffy asked. Shanks sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Well... Ya know your friend Usopp has been gone for a bit..." He said. Luffy nodded. "Yeah, I think he's just been busy or something" Luffy said. Shanks frowned. And put a hand on the boys shoulder. "No Luffy... Usopp's in the hospital..." He said. Luffy's eyes widened. "W-WHAT?!" He yelled. Shanks lowered his head. "Yeah... His dad called... He has...-" The red haired man was cut off by footsteps. An orange haired girl ran up next to a blonde teenager. "What's wrong?!" She asked. Shanks looked at them and motioned for them to come over. "Yeah... Like I was telling Luffy... Usopp's in the hospital" He restated. Both teenagers eyes widening. "W...what?" Nami stuttered. "His dad called him in... He's been diagnosed with a type of lung cancer..." The man told them. Nami's hands covered her mouth. Tears welled in her eyes. Sanji stood, dumbfounded. Luffy didn't know what cancer was, but he knew it didn't sound good. "Can...Can we go see him?" Sanji asked. Shanks nodded. "Yeah. You're all excused for a bit. Lu, I'll let Ace know what's up" Shanks said. Luffy went back into the class, interrupting the teacher's lesson, grabbing his things. And walking back out.

The three teens entered the Hospital. Run by the Heart family. They were the only doctors in the city, but it didn't matter. They were good at what they did. Luffy ran to the desk, Nami and Sanji trying to keep him from causing a huge scene. "Wheres Usopp?!" He yelled at the nurse at the desk. He wore a hat that said 'Penguin.' He stared at them, confused. Sanji kicked Luffy in the back, yanking him behind him. "Sorry. Can you tell us where Usopp is?" He asked calmly. Penguin nodded slowly, jotting down the room number and handing them the paper. Sanji and Nami nodded in thanks and headed to the hospital room. Sanji kept a firm hold on Luffy. They approached the room, just as a man walked out. Wearing a spotted hat. "Oh. Hello. You friends of his?" He asked in a monotonous voice. They all nodded. "I'm Dr. Trafalgar. Pleasure to meet you all" he said. Luffy tilted his head. "Tra...Tro...Torao." He stuttered. Then shook his head. "Is Usopp okay?!" He asked loudly. Nami smacked him over the head. "Shut up! Sorry he's uh... Special..." She said. The doctor nodded. "It's fine... Sir" He said to Luffy. "Call me Luffy" he told him. "Please try and be quiet. Your friend is very sick... He needs to rest. Also, please refrain from rough contact" He told them. For once, Luffy understood. "Okay Torao" He said. Law's eyes twitched slightly in annoyance. But he nodded, and headed off. Nami took in a breath. "Nami dear..." Sanji started, but she held up her hand. "I'll be okay..." She said. And the three entered the room.
