Her breath came out in large puffs in front of her face. The cold air bit at her cheeks and nose. But that was the least of her problems. Her bare feet hit the forest floor with extreme force, and the rocks dug into her feet causing more blisters to form. The trees ripped at her clothes and skin, but that only motivated her to move faster. Stopping for a second she bends down and rips a small piece of her clothes she quickly ties it to the tree branch at her eye level to mark her path. She knew it might be leading her captor right to her but this was the only was that she knew how to mark where she had been so she didn't get lost and die out here.
She begins to run again she had to get away from him he was absolutely crazy. There was no way for her to escape other than the forest. She had tried all of the other possible ways to get out already and he had caught her every time. This was her last shot at freedom, otherwise she would most likely die in that room. She didn't even know how long she had been in there. When she first got there there had been another girl in the room with her. She had been removed from the room shortly after she got there by the man and she hadn't seen her since she could only assume that she was dead.
She stopped running, as she spotted it. There was a small river in front of her. The water had to be freezing if she tried to go through it she ran the risk of getting hypothermia. But if she went further down the stream to find a place easier to cross she would run the risk of him catching up. Taking a deep breath she takes the first step into the freezing water and it feels like a million needles piercing her skin. Letting out a small whimper she takes another step. The water was so cold but she had to keep moving. Gathering her courage she begins to run in the water.
She knew she was making a lot of noise, but she had to be fast. The water was up to her waist now, and that's when she realized she had no idea how deep the water was and the water could easily carry her away. But she had no time to think. She continued to move through the water. She had began to shiver. By the time she had reached the other bank she was freezing and the dress he had forced her to wear clung to her body. Not taking any time to rest she continues to run. She makes it about twenty paces before he foot catches on a branch and due to her wet foot she slips and falls. Letting out a small cry of pain as her elbow slams into a rock. Breathing heavily she tries to pull herself up, but as she put her wait on her elbow all she can do is let out a cry of pain. As her elbow gives out she lands on the forest floor once more, with a loud thump.
Continuing to breath heavily she just lay there. Why did she even try anymore? Her parents and all of her friends were dead killed by that man. No man was not an accurate word, monster was more of an accurate word. But she had no one to blame but herself. She was the one that trusted this monster, if she had just listened to them all they would still be alive and him far behind. She wouldn't be running for her life in the forest god knows where. Gathering her strength she pulls herself up and begins to walk forward. Her legs felt like jello and she didn't know if she had it in her to run anymore. She could feel every cut, bruise and blister now. With every step she felt weaker and weaker. Looking up that's when she saw it. A break in the forest line. It looked like the side of a highway. With a small smile she starts to run again. She was so close to freedom. She could almost taste it. Getting closer and closer her speed picks up. She was now close enough to scream for help and someone might hear her. Opening her mouth she goes to just do that. But thats when a hand clams over her mouth. Being pulled backwards she begins to thrash around and scream into his hand.
"Really Lisa do we have to do this every time? Why can't you just be a good girl and come back with me?" With that he strikes her in the back of her head. Consciousness begins to fade and her hope becomes shattered. She was going to die because of this man. But again she had no one to blame but herself.
