Turns out my older brother was right. Middle school sucks. My teacher, Mr Buck, was constantly rambling about some boring crap about world war 1. "It all started when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated." "It all started when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated." I mocked in a annoying voice. God, school is so boring. Also, how is knowing that leaves are green because of chlorophyll going to help me be a lawyer? And it's not like some kid is still saying that he wanted to be a scientist since he was 9.  They would get bullied! Everyone knows that at if someone didn't like you at Greenheart Middle School, then you had a problem.

I normally just sit in class pretending that I'm listening to some stupid garbage that nobody else cares about. I was pretty much all B's and C's. Somehow. My friend, Phillip however was an all A's student. He aced every quiz, always raised his hand for a question, and was the smartest kid in class. He and I never talked to each other in class because he always was looking at the teacher and taking notes. Honestly, we are friends because we are both outcasts. We both get picked on by numerous types of people. Bullies, jocks, punks. Heck, even some of the unpopular kids had some sort of problem with us.

The bell ringed,  class was over. FINALLY! I checked my schedule and it was lunch time in 5 minutes. I went to my locker to put my stuff away and there was my personal bully, Jacob waiting for me. Jesus Christ, why me? Why did he have to pick on me? He put on that grin that spelled trouble and walked over to me. Jacob was your stereotypical bully. Brown hair, a buzz cut, around 5 foot 8, and a deadly grin that can send a shrivel up anyone's spine. "Why hello there nerdling." He said with his signature smile. Dangit, I'm trapped in his wrath. The halls are empty, everyone was at lunch, and all the teachers were in the teachers lounge. I had to put up with this crap myself. I swallowed the huge lump in my throat and said "Oh um, hi Jacob." "So did you bring your lunch today nerdling?" He asked. I know where this is going. Now with an annoyed voice, I replied "No Jacob, I never bring my lunch." "Good to know." He responded, moving closer. "So are you planning to give me your lunch money or are you just going to stand there?" He questioned, with that evil grin growing bigger. I wasn't going to fight him, I don't want to explain to my mom about another black eye. So I tossed him the 3 dollars and 50 cents. He grabbed it, put it in his pocket and said "Nice choice." But before he left he pushed me against a locker and whispered in an angry tone "I'll be back tomorrow wimp." Leaving me paralyzed in fear. I hate him. And karma sucks at its job. That crap is lazy and needs to catch up. I just sat in the hall waiting for Phillip to finish his lunch and come to chat with me.

10 minutes later the bell rang. Lunch was over. We had 10 minutes to chat with friends. Well in my case, chat with my only friend. He eventually saw me, jogged over and just scanned me up and down. "You weren't at lunch" He said. I frowned. "Jacob I'm guessing?" He asked, with a frown growing on his face as well. "Yup." I responded in a quiet voice. Phillip replied, "It's going to be a long year." Once again, Phillip was right.
