A new Beginging
"HELLO STUDENTS! WELCOME TO Elm Grove High!" the announcer said, her wings shining as though they were made of bubbles, or even glass. She smiled at each of them eagerly then began talking about this and that around the school. She didn't seem to care that no one was listening as she went on talking about roommate policies and other things.
As the ending to her speech drew near, she said, "There is an activities fair today in the courtyard, over to my right." She motioned toward the loudness of the courtyard. "They should be ready now, so enjoy! Oh, and one more thing!" As the people who had began to leave faced her again, she continued. "You will need to pick up the keys to your dorms before eight o'clock tonight! School starts Monday, so enjoy the next two days here!" She waved good-bye, then walked off the stage, toward the activities fair. A few people, most likely her friends, followed her, shouting her name and waving, trying to get her attention.
As people, once again, began to leave, the crowd wondered around and made their way to the main building, Hazel Weelink darted between them, eager to get away from all of the people. Eventually, she got to the main building, grabbed her key, and swiftly went to her new dorm.
The school's dorm rooms weren't exactly big, but they would do. The beds sat across from each other, eager for someone to personalize it, just as Hazel planned to do. Each bed had a desk at the foot and a small closet on each side.
She whirled around, hearing footsteps in the hall. There stood a tall neko, her long, dark brown hair resting in a braid on her shoulder, exposing the natural, lighter highlights within. Her face was chiseled, yet soft, and she was absolutely beautiful.
Realizing that she had been staring, Hazel blinked a few times and stepped forward slowly...
Reaching a firm hand out, she smiled. "I'm Hazel. And you are...?" she asked studying the girl's face. The neko girl seemed to study Hazel. Hazel no taller than five foot, took a few steps forward, her silver hair swaying at her side, revealing a gold string of stars that flowed down her neck. She reached her hand out and said, "I'm Hazel. And you are...?" Her red eyes shone with curiosity and she silently awaited an answer.
"My na-na-name is Lu-Lunah... Nice to meet you," she stuttered. She shook Hazel's delicate hand then watched as she backed away from the door, allowing Lunah to step in.
"Which bed do you want?" she asked cheerfully, turning to face the plain white beds against the walls. "You can have first pick. I honestly don't care."
"U-um. C-Can I h-have the one closest to the w-window?" Lunah said, pointing toward the window that sat above one of the beds.
"Yeah, sure," she said in a comfortingly soft voice.
In one swift movement, Hazel was sitting on the bed to the left, unpacking the things in one of her bags. Lunah stood there for a moment, taking in her new roommate, studying how she moved and acted. She suddenly noticed the tips of her ears sticking out from her hair, a sign that she was part of an elf heritage. She realized that she had been staring as well and sat her bag down on her new bed, beginning to unpack.

"Do you want to go to the activities fair?" Hazel asked Lunah, looking over her shoulder at the strange girl, who was now her roommate.
"S-Sure," Lunah responded. Gods, that stutter was going to bother her.
The two girls stood and left their room, making their way out of the dorm.
"Wow! This place is beautiful! Oh my gods, the architecture is amazing! Sorry, you probably don't care about that stuff," Hazel said, looking at the buildings that made up their campus.
"N-No, I agree. This place is amazing."
"Come one! Come all!" a nearby stand attendant called out. "Join the Sword Troop today!"
"A sword troop!?" the two girls said in unison. They jogged over to the stand and began tormenting the guy attending it, asking him questions that he couldn't answer before the next one was asked. Eventually, he just shoved the clipboard in their faces, telling them to sign up and ask the captain about it. And they intended to as they wrote their names.
They walked around a little more and signed up for a few more clubs. They soon realized that the sun had begun to set, so they went to dinner at the campus sandwich shop.
