The veins of the world flutter shut,
The light of the sky grows and weakens,
My life, your life, ceases to exist,
And all that we imagine are just decoys and beacons.
Pass away moon, when the sun yet again rises,
And the radiant energy spreads across the earth,
The life that we gave, the life that we lost,
The life that will never be worth.
We sit and we sit and we sit,
But when we look in the mirror,
When we stare into each other’s eyes,
We see it, if only we could get nearer.
That’s not normal,
That’s not real,
That’s not right,
Don’t you understand?
We are the ones; we are the lays of the land!
We decide what will happen,
What our race will do,
But really, just really, we think and we listen,
And believe that’s all we can do.
Reality has struck,
and pain has decided,
that our lives will stay the same,
and all of our worries will be subsided.
So think, tell me what you mean,
And let the pass away moon,
Help guide you and dream.
