As life went on, Corrara missed her mother more. She never had photos, nor did she have paintings. Corrara was an elf in the fall woods and her father was the king. Her father never talked of her mother, but she wanted to know everything about her. All Corrara knew was that she was a winter elf and that she had left when Corrara was very young.
Corrara walked over the Autumn Bridge that separated the two fall castles, Oak and Birch. She stopped halfway through to look at the huge gate separating fall and winter. She wanted to go through the gates to find her mother, but she had tried it before. Corrara had opened the gates, but the guards caught her and she fought back. She swung her fists and booted them to the ground, but more guards came and they were too strong for her. They brought her to her father who ordered the whole entire kingdom to never let her through those gates.
Corrara saw the bustling town below and all she wanted to do was be one of them. She hated everyone staring at her when she went to the town square. She didn't look like any of them too. She had platinum blonde hair when everyone else had brown, auburn or red hair. Corrara also had the palest skin of anyone in the fall woods. She had gotten these traits from her mother and she loathed them. Only her father and her best friend, Darshee Valyarus accepted her. Darshee was the daughter of the head guard of the fall woods. They had played together ever since they were little elflings. They walked around the castles together discovering every nook and crany they could fit it. They even figured out where the royal guards hung out when they were on their lunch break. But with all the fun Corrara had with Darshee, it could never fill the void her mother once was.
Deep in her thoughts, Corrara kept walking over the bridge to the Oak castle where the royal sleeping quarters were. When she reached the large oak wood doors, she pushed them open only to find her father standing at the base of the grand stairs leading up to the bedrooms. "Your home late! Where were you?" Bellowed Corrara's father.
"I was walking home from my studies." Replied Corrara. Her studies were in the Birch castle in the large library.
"You know dinner starts at six thirty and it is already six forty-five!" Her father always liked to be on time for everything. If there was a Gala starting at six he was there right as the clock struck six. This annoyed Corrara greatly. She liked to take her time and not rush.
"Sorry father, it won't happen again. I swear."
"Okay, good lets eat!" They walked to the left of the grand staircase through the large archway and into the dining room. Corrara sat on the left of the table and her father sat on the right. On the table was chicken noodle soup, fresh baked buns from the bakery in the town square, lamb chops and peas. Corrara grabed a little bit of everything except the peas, she hated peas. "Corrara I need to talk to you. Its important."
"Sure Dad. Whats the matter?" Corrara's dad was never super mean, He was like a big teddy bear, nice and cuddly.
"A war has struck out between the Spring and Summer realms, so we will have to go to the Winter realm to discuss what we are going to do. I would like you to come with me."
"Really? Go to the Winter realm? Would I be able to search for mom?" Corrara wanted more than anything to look for her mom, but she was pretty sure he would say no.
"Fine, but we will only be there for 3 days, so you can search for her for 2 days. But if you don't find her after that amount of time we are leaving." His voice was stern and that was rare for her father.
"Ok dad," Corrara wanted more time than that, but it was better than nothing.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you we are leaving tomorrow. So as soon as you are done you dinner, you should go pack." Corrara shoveled the food into her mouth and then ran upstairs to her room.
