Their faces were full of wonder as I asked this, "Ambrissa, I think that means that it'll be awhile before the true color shows, or it means that it's bad for one person......." She trailed off.
"Ambrissa, just put the bird down and eat. Could you wake your brothers up too?" My dad said as started to drink out of his glass. "Ambrissa, are you listening?" He raised an eyebrow at me with his drink infront of his mouth.
"I'll go get them now, be back in a minute." I ran back up the stairs and headed towards Ryane and Jearron's rooms.
Once I entered Ryane's room, I set down the bird and silently crept towards my brother's bed. When I was only a foot away, I jumped onto his bed, shifting mid air and landed ontop of him after yelling through the mind link for him to get up. He jerked himself up and fell out from under me, he was now in his wolf form too. As he got up, I started to bark out of laughter, that caused him to give me a death glare as I heard everybody else get up and come out of their rooms. Just as I was about to shift, grab the bird and run, I turned to see the bird had just flown into my room, probably being able sense what was about to happen.
When I turned back around, Ryane already pushed me to the ground and stood over me. He was now growling at me and through the mind link, I could tell just how mad he was at me. Then I decided to flip him off me and I made a run for it. I could hear his paws hitting the ground behind me, and being the stupid person I can be, I stopped right infront of the stairs. Ryane collided with me and and we rolled down the stairs looking like one big ball of fur.
'Ambrissa!' Ryane yelled at me through the mind link as he rolled off his back.
"I'm back!" Somebody said in a sing-song voice and everyone's head snapped in their direction. "Come on, give me a proper welcome!"
"Uncle Caine!" I heard Mikal's little voice as he was scooped up in the man's arms.
Suddenly there was a large dog pile next to the dining table, and my mother and father just laughed and shook their heads.
"Sister! I've missed you! You too, Timber! Aren't you glad to see your brother-in-law again?" So my father's name was Timber? Huh, I never thought about asking what it was either.
"Now, who've we got here on the ground?" He looked directly at me and smiled. "Did one of your sons finally get the brains to get a girl?"
"No! She's our sister!" Mikal ran towards me and wrapped his tiny arms around my neck.
"She's what?" He looked so confused that I had to release my wolfy chuckles. "Embra, I thought that you said that-, I thought-, really? You have a daugter? Then that means that I've finally got a niece!" As he finished talking, he walked up to me and felt my fur, and then he started scratching me behind the ears, boy did that feel good.
After he took his hand away and Mikal let go of me, I shifted back. As I did this, my apparent uncle embraced me in a hug.
"I'm your uncle, Caine, and your aunt should be coming any minute now. She'll love to know that she has a niece now!" He squeezed me one last time before letting go. "There she is right now."
He looked at a beautiful woman, she looked just like my mom, except she had silver eyes and her hair was darker. "Come meet your niece!" She looked over at us and she seemed confused at first, but then she was running to me in wolf form and started jumping around in a circle next to me.
Then she shifted back and put her hands on my cheeks, "I'm Rosella, your aunt. I presume that you've already met my brother, Caine?" I could tell that she was trying to control her excitement.
