Josh goes back to school. He wishes Tyler is there. All he can think the whole day is that he's going to see Tyler after school. Jordan is going to a friend's house for a while after school, so Josh decided it would be safe enough for him to leave. He doesn't see any way that it could go wrong like it did last time.
Black. Blue. Greenish-burnt-orange-and-white. Josh hides his face from everyone in the hallway. Loud-yellow. Colors. Abigail makes colors explode everywhere. They all turn black. Just black black black black black black.
BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK.
Josh escapes to the bathroom and locks himself in a stall. He clenches his fists and involuntarily wishes for his lighter. It helped him cope. The pain helps him cope. His nails dig into his palms harder as he slows his breathing. He tries to stay quiet. Even in a bathroom there is no privacy.
For the millionth time, he wishes Tyler is there. Tyler could say or do the right thing. Josh knows he needs Tyler, probably just as much as Tyler needs him.
After a minute, Josh exits the stall, washes his hands, and leaves the bathroom.
No one noticed him, or no one cared.
Tyler would care.
