Chapter. 1

Emma

I walked down the filthy streets of New York as I heard the daily profanities being echoed off the graffitied walls.

As I took each step, I would hear the fall leaves crunch beneath me as I killed their shape.

11:00 pm.

Everything soon got dark as I walked around New York still trying to find inspiration for my essay I have to write in college.

It got very cold and I shivered with each breeze going by.

I payed attention to the pattern I walked as I stared at my short black boots.

I heard sirens that were almost as loud as the cries for help at night.

Soon, a hand covers my mouth and pushes me against the cold brick walls that paint New York.

I shriek in terror as I try to push away from the man with a black mask that covered his face and his eyes were piercing blue.

He soon took it off and I was amazed to see a boy with brown hair that looked around eighteen or nineteen years old.

He was impeccably attractive and my mouth soon shut when I saw him.

"Please be quiet, I won't hurt you I swear" the boy said with a very deep and mysterious voice.

"Who the hell are you" I whispered in a harsh tone at the stranger that stood in front of me.

"Dylan. Now be more quiet" he said as he backed away a little to give me space.

"Why do I need to be quiet?" I said in a confused but pissed tone, this boy was getting on my last nerves.

"Because I'm hiding." He said in the quietest voice yet. He tipped his feet back and fourth as he bit his lip in nervous habit.

"From who?"

"Not really a 'who' but more as a 'them" he said as he pulled me into his arms because a gust of wind blew.

"I don't get it" I said. What kind of group of people would a person even be hiding from? His friends?!

"Now isn't the time for this Emma" he said.

I backed up in fright that he knew my name.

"How do you know my name?"

"Because I know you."
