Sighing loudly, I stare at the thin teddy bear printed blankets over my legs, I listen to the sound of monitors beeping. Each beep makes me slowly go insane. My head feels like a thousand, rough and rigid pebbles being tossed onto it. The tv hanging on the wall, connected to a lot of different colored wires, is pitch black, displaying nothing on the screen. Other than the monitors and the fans blowing, it's very uncomfortable with the silence surrounding me. I've been in the hospital for over a week and honestly am getting sick of laying down 24/7. There's absolutely nothing to do here, besides laying down in bed and impatiently waiting for time to pass on by. Time goes slower than it usually does.
"Kane Everette?" Heels clicking against the tiled floor, a woman's voice breaks the silence. I jump at the sudden change in the noises. Finally. I glance up to see the woman with her blond hair pulled back with Bobby pins. Her pale skin blends into the color of her hair, there being barely any difference.
"Yes?" I reply, sitting up. The woman nods and stops in front of my bed.
"You have a visitor." She says, not looking at me as she speaks and focusing on her clipboard.
"Is it my dad again?"
"No." The woman taps her finger against her chin, "it's someone named Mariss. He says you and him were friends."
"Mariss? Never heard of him.."
This time the woman glances up at me. "He says you lied to him."
