Chapter 22

I never knew how hard it was to find a wedding dress. I wasn't really picky when it came to dresses, but this was different. It had to be perfect and it had to be for me, but I couldn't find the right one, no matter how hard I tried.

I asked Poppy if she could help me out once again, and I honestly felt bad for constantly asking her, but she told me she didn't mind at all.

Around five o'clock, I was waiting outside of yet another wedding dress boutique. I swear, I probably went to every single one and this was the last one. If I didn't find one today, I was going to cry.

Not really, because I rarely cried, but still.

I watched as a car pulled up next to the side walk and Poppy got out. She was about to walk over to me, but Grayson rolled down the window by the driver's seat and called, "Flower!" Poppy walked back to him and he made her give him a kiss before she walked over to me.

"Thank you again for helping," I said. "Is Ryder staying with Grayson?"

"Yeah, Ryder liked Grayson more than me anyway," she said. "I don't care anymore. Their relationship is cute and he still loves me. He just loves Grayson more. Let's go in the store now."

"I'm really sorry for always wanting your help," I said.

"Don't worry about it," Poppy said. "It's fine, really."

"Well, thanks again," I said before the two of us headed into the store.

One of the workers there immediately walked over and I went back into the routine of looking for a wedding dress that I was probably not going to find. I already knew what kind of dress I wanted; something that wasn't extravagant, but also something that wasn't too simple.

While looking at and trying on some dresses, I had a feeling that I wasn't going to find the one I wanted here. Maybe never.

I looked a bit longer, almost feeling like giving up, when I came across a dress that might work. I was able to try it on and as soon as it was on, I knew that it was the one. It was perfect; simple yet not too simple. This was the one that I could see myself getting married in.

While I was purchasing the dress, Poppy called Grayson to get her to pick her up. Once the dress was in a white dress bag and it was paid for, the two of us went outside so she could wait for Grayson.

I asked if she could keep the dress at her apartment because Tony would probably sneak a peek and I would have to punch him in the gut. I didn't want to punch him, so it would be safe to keep the dress with Poppy.

She agreed and once Grayson pulled up, she gently took the dress and I thanked her again before she got into the car.

I walked over to my car and got inside before driving to my apartment. I opened the door and dropped my purse on the ground. "Guess what?" I said. "I was finally able to...." I stopped mid-sentence when I looked towards the kitchen, seeing a candlelit dinner set at the table. "What's this for?"

"I'm guessing you forgot what day it is," Tony said. "Valentine's Day."

I sighed. "How could I forget?"

"Probably because you've been really stressed out about finding the perfect dress," he said. "The wedding isn't even until June."

"I know, but I'd rather find one sooner than later," I said. "Wait....Oh my gosh, it's Poppy's birthday today, isn't it? Now I feel even worse about asking if she could help me, especially because I didn't wish her a happy birthday."

"Charlie, it's fine," Tony said. "She's an understanding girl and you two barely see each other as it is. She probably doesn't even know your birthday."

"I still feel bad," I said.

"Then send her a text message," he said. "But you could do that later, because the dinner is kind of getting cold."

I smiled and walked over to him, kissing his cheek. "Thank you for this," I said. "I'm not even a big celebrator of Valentine's Day. Sitting in front of the TV with pizza would have been enough."

"I know, but you will be getting married to me, so you should expect a lot of these type of things," he said. "Because I love you a lot."

"I love you too," I said before the two of us sat down at the table. "By the way, I was finally able to find a dress."

"Do I get to see it?" he asked.

       "Not until the wedding, idiot."

"Aww," Tony said. "Oh well. I'll probably sneak a peek when you're not looking."

"You know, that's exactly what your sister said, so the dress will be staying over at her house," I said.

"Damn, she knows me too well," he said.

I smiled. "I really love how close you two are."

Even though I really meant that, Tony frowned. "I'm sorry you don't have that with any of your siblings," he said.

"I'm over it now," I said. "If they want to be complete idiots over it, then that's there fault. I tried my hardest and they're not doing anything about it."

"Are you sure you're okay about it?" he asked.

I smiled again to reassure him. "Yeah, I am. Besides, I'm going to have one amazing husband and sister-in-law. And I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, even being on good terms with my family."

I am so sorry for the long wait. I have no ideas for this, except for the wedding, which will be on the final chapter, chapter 25. So I just have to think of two more chapters.

I might wait a bit before heading into Dedrick's book so I won't be too busy. Idk, we'll see.
