“DAMIEN! Wake up Boy! Don’t you see that alarm clock ringing?” My mother said as she woke me up. “ Ma why you gotta do this every morning?” “So you’d be something in the future, now go shower up and don’t miss the bus.
20 minutes later I was leaving the house to catch the bus, then I notice the new neighbors that moved in next door. I looked over and saw this fine girl, getting into a car with her mother. I froze for a second and didn’t even realize the bus was there honking at me. I usually don’t mind new neighbors, but man that chick was fine. What school she went to was what I was wondering as I stepped up in the bus. “Ayo look who was frozen again and it aint even winter yet,” Marcus said. “Man you didn’t see the bus” Russell joining in. “ Nah I thought I saw something” I replied. I sat next to Marcus and the bus rode off. We picked up another stop, where 3 “bad” girls walked in. “Aye waddup Babe “ Marcus joked to one of them. “Boy don’t trip” Paris said as she walked by to her seat. “I wasn’t even talking about you” he lied, the two other girls walked by me and both said “Hi Damien”. “Wassup” I said back to Nicole and Evelyn, as they both walked past me with a smile. Nicole and I went back. In middle school we used to go out but she cheated on me plenty of times. Never talked to her much but now sophomore year we ride the same bus, I’ll have to deal with her. Evelyn, a girl I met on ig and started texting, who also was in my class was Nicole and Paris’s Best friend whom they all met in freshman year.
“Ayo Damiens, spit a rhyme im boutta make a beat” said Marcus. “Nahh mann I’m aint feeling it” I replied. “Oh come on mane, Evelyn checking you out back there.” I peaked and she turned around minding her business. “Man she cute and all but..” “Man shut yo she cute all and faceass.” Chick is fine, but too bad she going with Colin.” Marcus said to me. “Aye what’s the move after school today” Russell said. “Forreal, I don’t even know.” I replied. Yaw tryna come by my place and hit COD: Ghost” said Marcus. “More like hit on your mova” ,said Russell as we laughed at Marcus. “But forreal Marcus your mova fine and thick. “Wateva” replied Marcus. “Yall thirsty”
The Bus arrived at school and everybody stepped out. “Ayo Damiem you copping em new 5s this weekend?” Marcus asked. “I don’t know, Imma see how much I got left this week.” “Well you better cause me and Russell camping out, and you best be there” Marcus said. I just looked at them and walked on. “Boy move out my way!” Paris said to Marcus. Don’t know what was wrong with that chick and Marcus. I think she got a thing for him, she probably just hiding it. I looked back and saw Evelyn walking behind me. “Aye Wassup”, I said to her. She smiled and said “Heyyy Buddy!” “Since when we “buddies” now?” I said. She laughed and said “ Since now silly.” We were walking by the hallway together and were just talking until I accidently bumped into someone and she dropped her books. “Ohh I’m so sorryyyy” I just froze there looking at her. It was the girl I was looking at this morning, the one that just moved in. We stared at each other for a long time until Evelyn interrupted and started holding my hands. Which I was surprise. She said, “ common buddy lets go.” I quickly handed the girl her books and Evelyn dragged me on. “ Aye Evelyn chill, slow down”. “Don’t wanna miss first period together” She said quickly. I tried looking back but couldn’t see the girl.I thought Evelyn was jealous for a moment.
Evelyn was staring at me the whole class as we were in Mr. Weaver Biology class. I’m not attracted to Evelyn but was pretty cute and bad. Boys in the class envy me because she’s interested in me I guess. As first period was over I went to my next class, which was gym. “Aye pass the ball man” Calvin shouted to one of his teammates. They were already playing basketball in the gym. Mr. Jones get changed and join in a team” Coach Hazard told me. I went to the lockeroom where I quickly changed and put on my 7s and stepped to the gym. Where I saw Nicole chatting with her friends, She glimpsed at me but I looked away. “ Aye pick a player” I said. “Nahh only ballers aloud” said Calvin. “ Man shut up, I bust you out last time though” I replied. Bet you won’t do it again sweetass” He said. Everybody giggled. I ignored and went on the other team. When the game started I saw Nicole watching and chatting. I was checking Lamar but Had to switch to Calvin and He bumped into me but coach Hazrd called it a fouled against me. “What!” I yelled, “Coach, Did you not see King Kong bump me”. “Man who you calling King Kong” Calvin furiously replied as he try to ram me over. We were about to fight until some players pulled out Calvin. “You just mad because your girl was with me behind your dumbass and stole her from you!!” Calvin stated. I paused and saw Nicole looking over here. I thought about last year when I found out Nicole had been cheating on me. The pain came in and I tried to take it away by remembering that I was over that. I went to the lockeroom, changed and came back out where I saw Nicole and Calvin on each other. She looked at me with a sad face and I just walked straight by. Then I met Russel in the hallway.
