Kaine awakens darkness, the only light being a dim bulb above his head. His mask is on the floor in front of him, but he already knew it was off because of the lack of red in front of his eyes. Of course his coffee was drugged. The first rule of supervillainy is that no superhero can enjoy a meal or drink without being sedated.

"Hello?"

His voice echoes through the room, but that is the only sound he hears besides his breath. His night vision isn't working because of the dim light above him. His brain perceives the room as lit, and that, therefore, there is no need to see in the dark. He jerks his arm up, but it is restrained...

... By ice.

Kaine's first thought was, "Did I just get captured by fucking Elsa?"

Then it hit him. The SHIELD agent he encountered earlier. Kaine breaks free of the ice, obviously only made dense enough to hold him at his highest recorded strength, which is embarrassingly outdated.

Kaine moves away from the dim light. Able to see once again, he sees a door. Kaine slowly moves toward the door, careful to not make noise. Upon reaching the door, he slowly opens it. Unsurprisingly, Jayla is behind it.

"I know you aren't-"

"Alone? I am."

"You're lying."

"The good guys don't lie."
