Near death

So later that night I decided to go out. I put on a warm fuzzy jacket, because it was so cold outside, and I stepped out. I didn't realize how dark it actually got until I stepped out, almost, like it was darker than usual. It was 8:00 and the sky was as pitch black as ever, not a single star roamed in it. I couldn't even spot the moon any where, how strange. The street lights were on though, so I was relieved of that. But what was I scared about? I was 16 and didn't need to be scared of anything. I searched around for my phone but I couldn't find it any were. Since it was dark out I wanted to make sure I had a phone handy just in case. After about ten minutes of searching I heard a ring, which helped me find were it was. It was Jay calling me. I then realized that I had completely forgot about our date. "Jay!" I answered. "Morgan, were are you?" "I'm so sorry Jay, I'm home I got sick today and it threw me off and" "so you ditched me!?" "No Jay it's not like that!" My heart pounded even more. "Whatever!" He said and then he hung up. I knew that my chances with him were just lost, but I wasn't too worried about it. Sure he was the cutest guy ever, and seemed super sweet too, but we didn't connect right. I put my phone in my pocket and I walked outside, throwing my hood on my head. It seemed so quiet out I couldn't hear a cricket. All I heard was some gusts of wind, and my heart beat match the pace of my foot steps. I walked all the way to the maze, it was dark and there were no lights on the inside, but that didn't stop me. I knew my way around that thing so well, I knew all the dead ends, all the secret jump throughs and every thing. I liked taking the long way to the center. Although, I walked, and I walked, until I realized it was getting way to dark. Till it came to the point were I could barely see the shadows of my hands as I walked. Once it came to that though, I pulled out my phone. I shined the light in the direction I would normally go for the maze, but....I realized at that moment, nothing about my surroundings was familiar. I knew were I was, so why now that I can see, can I not find my way? I took a path that I thought was right, but I had just got even more confused. I didn't understand, I knew that maze like the back of my hand. I got more and more confused as I walked, and I seemed to be getting more and more lost. It's like once it got dark, someone had completely changed the maze and switched it around, because it was completely different. I started to get scared. I decided to call my mom. I looked at my phone and I tried to call her, but...I got no service. I didn't understand, I always got service in the maze, I always did. Bushes couldn't block my service could they? Or was I farther than just the maze...where was I? I tried calling every one, or texting, but I couldn't, and I was lost. I started to panic and run through all the paths. I ran and ran for what seemed like forever, around all the twists and turns. I ran so much you'd think I'd find my way out by now. It seemed like the maze was never ending too. Why was it different, why was it bigger, and why did it stink? I realized a horrible Oder coming from some were. I decided maybe it was from the outside, so I followed it. The stench just got more and more foul. I plugged my nose all the way through until, I found it. I found the center of the maze. At that point I just felt more horrible because I wanted to find my way out. I pointed the light of my phone to the center, and there was no more dirt, there was something different though... there was a little door, in the ground. I slowly kneeled down to grab the little nob, it was a tiny skull I stopped for a minute before touching it. I felt an uncomfortable feeling.. I felt like there were bunch of eyes staring me down, or someone was watching me. I turned the light of my phone around examining my surroundings. I looked and looked, until I realized, there was something in the bush of the maze. There was a set of red eyes. I stared until I heard it start to growl, a growl like it was very angry, I was ready to set off into the maze. I realized that the growls got even louder besides they were coming from every were including the path of the maze. I saw a figure come towards me, just a black figure with glowing eyes. It stood half way slouched to the side and had long viscous claws. It limped to me in a weird manner and I tried to scream but nothing would come out, I was backed up on the ground now, and sitting in complete shock. They were all coming at me from every were. I turned around and grabbed the little handle and jerked on it as hard as I could until the door popped open. It was tiny but it was enough to squeeze my body in. It was black and I thought was just a hole, but it wasn't it was a black tar like substance, and once I got in, I was stuck. If I were to go out these things would get me, if I were to stay in I'd drowned in whatever this was, but either way I didn't have a choice because I was stuck, I drowned deeper and deeper until I held my breath and closed my eyes, and I sunk in slowly. I realized I was sitting in the tar, but the pressure seemed to get lighter. I knew I couldn't hold my breath in forever, so I let go and opened my eyes, but...I was in water. Some how now, and I was breathing. And blew out a heavy breath each time, bubbles floated from my mouth and I was floating, but I was breathing, my hair floated around me and I somehow lost my jacket, I was Breathing in water! I couldn't believe it. I started to push my arms and legs to swim forward. I was in a thin hallway and the walls were made of dark brick, it was filled with water. I started to swim forward, I saw glowing light coming from a turn of the hall way. I swam towards it and looked in, I saw a glowing ball, almost like a crystal ball, of bright blue. I went over to touch it, and it just remained the same. I looked around and it was just a small room, so I swam back out and continued down the hall, but it got darker, then I realized I saw eyes again, only this time a bright glowing blue, I paused, then It came after me! With an ear piercing scream! It had sharp fangs, and fins for hair, with an old scraggly woman torso and face that looked like wax from a candle, melting. In the place of were legs would be was a long huge fish like tail.

It swam after me and so did it's friends, it came so close for me almost in its grasp

It swam after me and so did it's friends, it came so close for me almost in its grasp. I swam into the room and touched the ball again, and closed my eyes, this was the end, but it wasn't. The screams faded away, and so did all sound, I could feel the pressure get even more light than before, my body felt way heavier, I started to shiver in cold. I opened my eyes, I wasn't in water any more, but I was still in the hall ways, but different than before. I walked slowly, my body dripping with water, and my boots clicking on the floor. I turned to a corner and walked, and to another and walked, it's like I was in another maze all over again and I thought I was underground but, I don't know were I was any more. There was no door to be seen.

I just kept walking hoping to find someone or something, I then did find something, on the floor. I found a sword, a beautiful one at that. I picked it up and it was pretty heavy, but light enough for me to hold and raise with two hands. It had a silver glow to it, it had some type of writing or something on it that I've never seen before. The handle was a blue-ish brown- ish color. It had a really pretty glowing blue jewel on it too. I just held on to it and continued walking then there were two things on either side of the wall. I didn't know what they were, death traps maybe? They looked like cylinders almost, that was just hollowed out. I saw a couple stones on the ground so I picked one up. Once I threw it past it, something did happen. They turned on and they made a really loud noise, it sounded like vacuums. I still didn't know if it was safe to pass through them, but I did anyway hoping for the best. Once I stood in between them, I felt a warm air, and it felt weird, but the water was coming droplet by droplet off my body. It was evaporating off my body, like it knew I needed to be dry. Once it was done, I felt much more comfortable, and walked forward and saw a pole sticking out the side of the wall, and there hung, my jacket. I took it off the pole, I was definitely starting to get really worried by all this. It had to be a dream, but it wasn't because my gut just told me it wasn't, I just knew, but it was very peculiar, it was nothing that I had ever imagined in my life would even happen in a fairy tale. I kept walking, and I realized that there were no more turns, just a long narrow hall. Then I saw two more things on the ground, my phone and the book from the library. I completely forgot about my phone. I felt my pockets from were I last had it. I picked up both of the items. I turned on my completely dry phone, and tried calling. Of course, no service. I held the book and phone under my arms and the sword in my hands. I heard something coming my way. Then I started to see a figure slowly come my way. It had the same glowing red eyes, as before in the maze above, it limped toward me again. I dropped the book and tucked the phone in my pocket, and raised my sword ready to swing. It came to me to were I could see it in the light, and I gasped at its hideousness.
