Chapter one; Essence’s P.O.V
“I was standing at the end of a hallway, my memory is kind of blurred, but I think it was dark. The lights flickered overhead; it was a dead-end. I had nowhere else to go; I was TRAPPED!” This is where it all started, telling my friends about my ridiculous dreams about zombies; I knew in my heart that a Zombie Apocalypse would never happen, but what about all my other dreams that had come true over the years? I guess I was lost in thought, because suddenly I was being shaken by Rhiannon. “Ah!” I screamed, Rhiannon took a step back, it felt like everyone was looking at me. “Sorry” I whispered “You okay?” she asked, sounding slightly concerned, I guess I looked a little frightened. I look around as I suddenly heard the bell, “Last period” I smiled, quickly walking to the canteen area for P.E. I got changed into my P.E uniform and went to the Basketball court. We started our game, so far we were winning, but soon enough, none of that would matter! I went to shoot a hoop, but I was stopped by a blinding flash of light; I quickly fell to the floor “She hasn’t turned” I heard a deep, grunt of a voice say. My sight came rushing back, I looked around and saw Seth aiming to throw the ball in the hoop, and everyone was cheering, screaming even. Then there was a loud roar from up the street, I turned my head to look, there was a bunch of people running down the street towards the school “WHAT IS THAT!?” I yelled and pointed to the mob, one of them jumped on a car and smashed the front window “WHAT THE?” Yelled Mr. Cooper “EVERYONE TO THE CLASSROOM NOW!” He yelled, we all ran to the classroom “A-are we g-going to die?” asked Rhiannon, I could sense the fear in her voice “Not as long as we stay in here” Said Mr. Cooper soothingly. I think we all knew what was going on… “How is this possible?” I whispered to myself, everyone was quiet; some people were shaking, some crying, but not me! I wasn’t afraid; I knew exactly what I had to do; FIGHT!
