"Shads!The party is about to start!",yelled Sonic, downstairs.
"Coming!",I yelled back, I smiled.
Who never knew that I would come this far...

I'm living in a whole new life now.
A life with him and with friends.
I fix up my tie and ran downstairs, just in time for the party.
I spotted a red echidna near the bottom of the stairs.

"Knuckles?A-Aren't you-",I looked at him, confused.
He looked back.
"I dont have Scourge messing with my life so...I'm back to being Sonic's friend.",He said.
"Ah, I see.Well have fun and Happy New Years!",I said and ran off to find Sonic.

I spotted Silver.
"Hey, Silver!How is it going?",I asked him.
"Doing good.",He replied.
"Um, so you know where's Sonic??Have you seen him?",I asked.
"Yeah, he ran up the stairs for what I think heading towards the balcony.He better not get lost, this house is huge though.",Silver exclaimed, looked around.

I laughed.
"Yeah, sure is and thank you!",I said, heading towards the stairs and up to the balcony.
There, I spotted Sonic.
"Sonic!I have been looking for you.",I exclaimed, walking towards him and holding his hand.

Sonic turned to me and smiled.
"I wanted you to come to this spot.I have something important to tell you.",Sonic said.
I froze..
"I-Important?",I asked, confused.
"Yeah, something important.I was waiting for this moment and here we are.",Sonic smiled again, I blushed slightly and looked down.
"Aww...you're so cute when you blush.",Sonic teased, laughing slightly.
"Shut up...",I smirked, still looking down.
"Make me.",Sonic teased again, pinching my cheek gently.
I kissed him and pulled back.
"There.I made you.",I smirked.
"Hahah.You got me.",He laughed.
"So...what we the important thing that you wanted to say?",I asked, anxiously.
"Oh, that?Hm...what should I say about this...",Sonic thought for a moment while crossing his arms.
I started to get a little nervous.
"Shadow..."
"Yes?"
"Remember.That moment...the moment that I said I will try to stay alive...just for you.",Sonic said,"Shadow, I just want to know..that I'm always here with you and I will always be."
I nodded slowly.
"Yeah...I'm here with you also.",I said, holding Sonic's hands again and squeezing them gently.
"No matter what happens or where ever we go, we'll protect eachother and stay strong.",Sonic said.
We were about to kiss but-
"Hey guys!The fireworks are about to start!Mind helping us?",Tails exclaimed, smirking.
"Yeah sure!",Sonic exclaimed, he looked at me,"Lets go, Shads!"
"Okay!",I said and ran along with Sonic.

When we got there, everyone was also there, waiting for us.
"What about the lovebirds go first.",Rouge smirked.
Sonic nodded.
"Lets do this, Shads!",Sonic said, handing a firework to me.

We both lit it and the fireworks shot into the air.
Bright colored fireworks appeared and we all cheered.
I looked at Sonic, happily, holding his hand.
Let's make this the best year.
