"Dad, what are star people?"
"Star people? I've never heard of those before."
"Nana told me about them! She said that they are made by a lot of stars coming together, and creating a star person!"
"You really do have a wide imagination, Henri. Now, come on. We have a big day tomorrow."
"....Dad?"
"Yes, son?"
"Do we have to move? I like living here."
"Unfortunately, we do. Without your mother, we cant keep this house. I just don't earn enough money."
"Oh.. okay then. Goodnight, dad."
Henri shuffled in his sleeping bag, turning away from the boxes scattered across the floor and towards the window to stare out of it as his dad left the room. The moon shone into the bedroom and the stars twinkled, and Henri couldn't help but think of the star people. He lifted his hand, tracing a constellation in the sky. "I think.. that's Cepheus," he whispered as he traced the stars to form a house shape. "Cepheus." The 12-year-old repeated. "Sounds like.. a great name." Henri yawned, slowly closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
-------------------------
["Cepheus! Cepheus, where did you go? Oh! There you are!"
"Aries, what is it?"
"I was just looking for you, I thought you had wandered off again."
"Nono, do not worry, Aries. I am here."
"...Hey, Cepheus?"
"Yes?"
"Do you ever get the feeling that somebody is listening to us?" ]
-------------------------
"Henri! Come on, wake up, buddy!"
The boy groaned as he was awakened by a bright light coming into the bedroom.
"Come on, Henri, up and out of bed, we have to drive to the new place. Its a long drive, so pack some stuff in a bag."
"Alright, dad.." He said in a sleepy mutter, shuffling out of his sleeping bag. "Dad, I had a dream last night."
"Oh, you did?" Henri's dad smiled, looking over at him and dropping some clothes at Henri's feet.
"Yeah. I think it was about the star people!"
"Now, Henri, just because you had a dream about them does not mean they are real," He chuckled.
"But, dad! They knew I was there, watching them, dreaming about them!" The boy beamed, standing up.
"Its just your imagination. Come on, Nana wants to say goodbye, so we have to leave for her house."
"Alright," He said in a mutter, dropping his head. As his dad walked out of the room, Henri began to get ready, Pulling on his green long-sleeved, striped shirt on before putting the blue overshirt on. He pulled his trousers up and buttoned them up, finally pulling his socks and shoes on. Once Henri was fully dressed, he grabbed his purple rucksack and rummaged through the boxes. He took out a few colouring pens and pencils, a book, a water bottle and his old teddy bear in which he named Socks. Pulling the bag over his shoulder, he walked out of his room, and downstairs where his dad was waiting for him.
"Im ready!" The blond grinned, his dad gently ruffling his hair.
"Good. Come on, the delivery truck is heading off soon, So we need to go see Nana now."
The two headed out to the car, and Henri jumped into the back seat while his dad got into the drivers seat. Putting his seat belt on, the car pulled out of the drive, and they began heading to his Nana's house.
Henri and his Nana were very alike. Both open-minded, happy, and they looked a lot like each other. Each of them shared the same, gold-blond curly hair and marble green eyes. Not to mention they had very similar interests. Before Henri knew it, they had arrived at his favourite relative's house. Beaming from excitement, he opened the car door and jumped out. His Nana was already waiting for him at the doorstep. Running up to her, he wrapped his arms around her. "Nana! Guess what? I heard the star people last night!"
"Oh, you did? How wonderful!" She said with a wide grin, alike to Henri's.
"Nice to see you again, Julie," Henri's dad said with a small smile.
"It's nice to see you too, Jason," Julie nodded at him, before leading Henri and his dad inside. "Do come in! I prepared tea, and some of Henri's favourite biscuits. And I also have a small present for Henri before he leaves."
"You do?" Henri said, kind of shocked, as he stepped into the house, taking his shoes off. The only time he received presents were on Christmas and his Birthday.
"Of course I do! I want you to have something to remember me by, dont I?"
"Well.. Yeah!" He giggled, skipping into the sitting room.
His dad and nana walked in, a large brown book resting in his nana's hands. "This, Henri, is something that was passed down to me from my father, and my father's father, and so on. Of course, I was an only child, so it was passed down to me. I have decided to pass it onto you, considering Carly passed.." She paused, immediately stopped speaking, and handed the book over to him, and Henri grasped it gently, putting it into his lap. The book had an auburn leather cover with golden edges. In the middle, was a golden star. He opened the book, flicking to the first page. As he began to read the page, he realised what this was all about.
"The.. Star people?" He whispered. "So they're real? Who made the book?"
"Of course they are real, dear Henri," She chuckled. "I do not know the author of the book, his name was ripped out of the book before I got it. But it contains a lot of information about the star people, and I thought you might enjoy it."
"I love it! Thank you so much, nana!" Henri grinned, standing up to hug her tightly. They talked a bit more, before finally, the time had come to leave for their new house. They all said their goodbyes, before Henri and his dad left again, getting back in the car to leave.
Henri felt a rush of sadness as he waved goodbye, the car pulling away. He looked down at his new book, immediately feeling happier again. He couldn't wait to find out what was inside.
