"LIKE HELL I'M GONNA FORGIVE HER! (Y/N) ALMOST DIED BECAUSE OF HER!" You heard Sans's voice yell as you slowly woke up. You looked around you to see that you were on a small bed. You sat up, but quickly laid back down as you felt immense pain in your stomach. This time, you slowly sat up, careful not to hurt yourself.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP! I'M NOT GOING TO FORGIVE HER!" You heard Sans yell from the next room. You slowly stood up and inched your way to the door. It was already open so you just leaned in the doorway, clutching your stomach.
"W-what's going on?" You weakly asked. Sans and Alphys turned to you. You saw Sans holding a bottle of ketchup, obviously drunk.
"(Y-y/n)! What are you doing? Go lay back down!" Alphys suggested, running to your side. Sans just stared at you in disbelief. You looked at Alphys.
"What exactly happened?" You asked Alphys.
"Well, I'm sure you know that Undyne attacked you. Well, Sans and her fought a while, which he won. Luckily he didn't kill her, but she is pretty badly injured. I finally convinced Undyne to spare you and your friends, but Sans won't forgive her at all. And to make things worse, he won't stop drinking!" Alphys explained.
You sighed and walked over to Sans, pulling him into a hug. Sans quickly hugged back.
"I'm glad you are ok. I don't know what I would do if you died. I could have had Frisk reset, but I can't wait another four years just to see you again." Sans explained. You hugged him tighter, but not enough to hurt you. You then pulled back and grabbed the ketchup out of his hand.
"Stop drinking Sans. I know you like ketchup, but you are getting drunk, and that won't help you feel better." You explained. Sans sighed and let you take the ketchup.
"You should lay back down. You aren't fully healed yet. I don't want it to get any worse than it already is." Sans suggested. You nodded. Sans carefully picked you up and brought you back into the other room and on the bed. He grabbed a chair and sat it by your bed. He sat down and took a hold of your hand.
"You should really forgive Undyne. She isn't going to hurt us anymore. The only monster left that would hurt us is the king. And we won't see him for a while." You suggested. You could tell that Sans was about to argue with you, but decided not to as he nodded. Sans leaned down and kissed your forehead. A few minutes pass and Melody walks in.
"(Y/n)! You're awake!" Melody yelled, running to your side. You smiled at your friend. Not to long later, Papyrus and Frisk walked in and sat down beside you. You talked to your friends for most of the day. Sans of course, make tons of puns. Sadly, you could tell that he was just saying them to make you smile. At the end of the day, Paps, Mel, and Frisk all left to go home. Sans stayed there by your side.
"Sans, you should go home and get some rest." You suggested. Sans just smiled and shook his head.
"I'm not leaving your side (y/n). I can fall asleep on a chair." Sans explained.
"Sans, what's wrong? Your puns didn't seem very genuine today." You asked, a worried expression spread across your face. Sans's smile faded as he sighed.
"I'm just scared. I don't want to loose you again. You already know how long I waited just to be with you. I...I just..." Sans explained. Tears were streaming down his face. You placed your head on his cheek and smiled at him. Sans took your hand from his cheek and held it close to his chest.
"You aren't going to lose me Sans. My feelings may not have worked that once, but I'm sure it was because I was just not paying attention to them. I'll be safe." You explained.
"S-she almost killed you..." Sans whispered.
"Sans, the spear wasn't aimed at me. It was aimed at you. I pushed you away for a reason." You explained.
"You could have died either way! (Y/n) you need to stop trying to be strong for everyone! I know how you are! You feel like you have to be there for everyone, and protect them, just because you can sense danger! Stop trying to be strong for everyone! Let me be strong for you for once!" Sans yelled. More tears fell down Sans's face. You could feel tears build up in your own eyes. You looked away.
"Sans, you don't understand. I try to protect anyone because I don't want anyone to feel like how I did when my mom and dad died. I was so heart broken. Yeah, Melody doesn't have any family, but she has Paps now. And if you died, think of how Paps would feel. I need to be strong, for everyone's happiness." You explained, tears escaping your eyes.
"(Y/n), stop it! Please, let me protect you for once." Sans whispered. You sighed and painfully sat up.
"What are you doing? Lay down!" Sans suggested as you sat up. Once you were fully upright, you pulled Sans into a hug.
"Sans, please just shut up. I've lived my whole life being the protector, there is nothing you can do that will change my mind. I will let you protect me however. Just let me protect my friends. It's my job." You explained. Sans nodded and hugged you tightly, but not enough to hurt you. You pulled his head up to yours and kissed him. He did not hesitate to kiss you back. Soon, you two broke your kiss.
"You really should get some rest. You're not going to heal this way." Sans suggested with a smile. You sighed and nodded. You laid back down and smiled up at Sans. Sans kissed you on the forehead and you closed your eyes, quickly falling asleep.
