The compartment where you found yourself began rapidly filling up with water. There was no way out. You were trapped. Tears started falling as you punched the walls and screamed hoping someone would show up and get you out, but knowing nobody would. The water reached your neck as you took whatever breaths of air you could before you were completely submerged. The piercing cold and darkness took a hold of you as you realized; you were alone.

You jumped out of bed, falling to your knees and you gasped for air. As much as you tried you couldn't stop yourself from shaking as the tears kept on rolling and the air kept on not getting anywhere near your lungs.

You had to get out of there.

You ran through the compound, trying to find a window, trying to breathe, whislt sobbing loudly. You couldn't hold it in anymore. It had been the last straw. You ran through the hallways, leading straight to the balcony. As soon as you got outside, the cold night air hit your face. It helped but it didn't make the panic attack go away.

You held onto the sill as if your life depended on it, crying hard as you figured out how to regain control over your lungs.

"Y/N?" Came a familiar voice behind you. "What's wrong, honey?"

Bruce came up behind you. You turned around to face him. Even through the tears you could see he was wearing a lab jacket and had his stethoscope around his neck, probably working late.

"I-I I.. c-can't.. b-breathe..." you chocked out, making him understand. He's never seen you have an episode, but you've told him all about them. They were your green monster creeping inside.

"Okay, okay, hey" he said, making you look into his kind eyes, full of worry. "Focus on me, okay? You're okay."

All you could do was nod. He held you hands tightly. You tried synchronizing your breathing to his, it helped a little.
Bruce suddenly took his stethoscope out and put it on your ears.

"Focus on the sound, Y/N" he said, opening a few buttons on his purple shirt. "Forget the rest, just focus on the sound" he placed the round end of the equipment on his chest and you heard it. The strong, regular beatings of his heart.

"You're okay, baby, I'm here, just listen to me." he said. You slowly felt your breathing slowing down. The air easily finding it's way back into your body.

You began to relax and stood close to him, placing your hands over his chest as well. Feeling the beatings beneath the skin. He wrapped his arms around you, warming you in the cold night.

The more you listened to his body, the more you felt your muscles easying up and relaxing. With his hands locked on you, Bruce lead you both back inside and sat you on the couch, where you suddenly began feeling the exhaustion creeping over you.

"Sshh... you're safe, you're okay..." Bruce kept whispering along with some sweet nothings into your ear, in between placing kisses on your forehead and playing with your hair.

Tiredly, you took the stethoscope from your ears and placed your head directly on his chest, letting the strong, regular sound of his heart fill you. You quickly drifted off to a peaceful sleep, knowing he would be there when you woke up, knowing you weren't alone.
