Rosie looked around in a raging panic as the throne room was almost in pieces. Flames ruptured along the drapes, and the rugs were in rags. Rosie didn't look so good herself. Her hair was in knots, and her dress was in shreds. She was covered in cuts and bruises, and the wand in her hand felt like it was made of lead.
People lay injured around the throne room, while others continued to fight. All Rosie could think was; what had she done?
Had she caused all of this? Was it really all her fault?
She thought back to when she was working on her family's farm, when life was simple, and then that stupid prince had to go and steal her heart. She wanted to hate him, and she wanted to blame him for all of this, but when she saw him standing on the opposite side of the throne room his suit in tatters, she felt herself fall for him all over again.
He had a large cut on his cheek, and his hair was caked in dirt and blood. He looked as if he were in a trance, and his eyes were wide. He spotted Rosie on the opposite side of the room, and slowly made his way towards her.
Rosie looked around the room for an escape plan. She didn't think she could bear to see him or talk to him now. She was too scared that she would hurt him again, or anyone else. As she glanced around the room, she noticed that the Royal Guards were beginning to file into the room. They had their swords and shields in their hands, and Rosie knew she didn't have much time before they arrested her. She didn't mean to cause any harm, but they wouldn't believe her...
"No!" the prince shouted when the guards began to charge at Rosie.
Rosie wanted to wave the wand that was given to her, and make the guards stop, but she knew she couldn't. What if it went wrong and she hurt the prince instead? She couldn't live with herself if she really hurt him.
"Rosie, run!" the prince shouted.
Rosie knew she couldn't run either. They would outrun her.
The guards got closer, and Rosie made sure to make eye contact with the prince before she did something so incredibly stupid. She met his eyes, and felt her heart flutter. She mouthed the words; "I'm sorry" before turning and sprinting towards the glass windows. She leaped through the glass and over the side of the mountain.
Tears filled her eyes as she used the wand to manipulate the winds in order to bring her to the ground in one piece. She looked up at the castle on top of the mountain and felt a tear run down her cheek.
She knew she couldn't see the prince, or any of her other friends at the Royal School of Wisteria ever again. She couldn't risk their safety, and she knew that Princess Dawn would stop at nothing to make sure Rosie was out of their lives forever.
"I'm sorry, Aaron," Rosie whispered while looking up at the castle. A tear fell from her eyes, but she wiped it away angrily and turned towards the forest. She would go home, and she made a vow to herself to never return to the city of Wisteria ever again.
She left her heart with Prince Aaron at the castle, and began her journey home.
