Chapter 01
Laura opened her eyes, finding herself falling through the sky that was shrouded in total darkness, there were no stars and yet she somehow knew that it was the sky that she was in. She closed them, allowing herself to be swept further and further down into the never ending void.
But when she opened her eyes again, she became blinded by a bright light, no, it wasn’t a light, it was the sun, the sun of mid-day shining down on her, Laura had to squint so not to be blinded she took in her surroundings.
It seemed that she was on a beach, glancing around she had no way to recognize it, but when she looked back to the ocean she saw someone standing in the water. The person was knee deep in the clear blue water, frowning she moved closer to get a better look at who it could be.
The person was clad in black clothing that looked like a cross between a type of robe and elegant dress with long wavy yellow golden hair that stopped just past the shoulders.
She called out to the person but no voice would come out, she went to get closer but stopped when the water began to drift away from her feet at a tremendous speed. This was because a large wave started towards them. She called out to the person, trying to say that they should run to higher ground before the wave hit, and still no voice would come out.
The person then glanced over their shoulder, as if able to hear the unspoken voice before turning to face her.
Laura became frozen in place; the person she was looking at was herself, but not herself. The one that looked like her had honey brown eyes, while Laura had sky blue; whoever this was she looked identical to Laura. With a slight smile that seemed forced the mirror image lifted her hand to Laura, as if waiting to see what she would do.
Without hesitation Laura rushed for the mirror image girl as the wave fell over them both, Laura was plunged into the water tumbling and turning trying to know which way was up or down, opening her eyes again she saw the mirror image looking at her, and once again raised her hand to her.
She tried to swim to reach it, but the currant pulled her away forcing her to go do into darkness as the one who looked like her faded away from sight. But then she was back at the surface catching her breathe. The sun now setting, stars forming in the ink black sky, she looked around but saw no signs of the one who looked like her, that was until she looked towards the sky, she saw many shooting starts, it would have looked beautiful.
That was until she saw a figure falling, at first it looked like that mirror image one, but she was wearing the same exact cloths as her. It was her, falling towards the ground. Laura then felt her own legs give out; falling back down into the water, which then faded and became the sky which then turned into that dark endless void once again.
Again she allowed herself to be taken by the darkness, going deeper down then before, but soon her feet touch the bottom, she opened her eyes and looked around seeing nothing before her, confused she stepped forward, and a bright white light shined from underneath her feet.
A gust of wind came out, the darkness underneath her feet breaking apart, doves flew from the darkness, and once it all cleared Laura looked down once more to see that she was standing on to what looked to be ornate stained glass of a robbed woman with feathers falling around her.
She then saw a large door with a gothic archaic design appear before her, a design she almost felt familiar with but was unsure where she knew it from. The door was almost twelve feet in height with scrawling silver and gold that almost looked like the wings of an angel she could feel warmth and something else emanating from behind the strange yet beautiful door.
