Dear Eddie,
I thought about what you said earlier. About me not even giving you a reason why I'm so fucked up. You're right; you have been by my side since day one. That's why I'm leaving. You deserve so much better in your life than some runaway fuck up who's been invading your life. I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything, and a huge thanks to the rest of the guys as well. I'm sorry what I put you through. I don't know where I'll be going, but at least I won't have the burden of being your burden.
Love,
Mary
After I read this, my heart dropped.
"Al...read this." I handed Al the letter and sank to the ground. Al sat next to me and read it.
"Fuck...how are we going to find her?" He mumbled, handing the letter back to me. I took it and read it again.
"I have no fucking clue..." I rubbed my temples and just emotionally kicked myself for walking out on her.
"Actually, I do have a clue," I stared at Al. "We're going to go look for her. Right now."
"Um, what? How are we going to do that? We don't have a car." Al asked.
"We have a tour bus. We'll say we needed to go get something for your headache."
"But I don't-"
"You do now Alex. Please, just go with it. I can't have her out all alone. I'm worried about her."
"Okay, okay. Let's go."
Al and I told the crew what we needed to do, backed up with Al's "amazing" acting of rubbing his temples, and he started to drive the bus. For about an hour we went street after street searching for her and walked the streets too. Unfortunately, we went back to the venue without a Mary.
"Fuck..." I mumbled. I sat in the passenger's seat, and with a heavy sigh, started to sob. I buried my head in my knees as Al rubbed my back. What am I going to do? Japan is a big country and we have to go back to America. I didn't want to leave, but how could I possibly find her on my own?
"Al," I sniffed. "I have to call the police here and put a Missing Persons report."
"Whatever you need to do, Ed." Al hugged me tight.
After a few minutes, I got up and headed into the venue where people were fucking, drinking, and throwing up. They were so happy and didn't have a care in the world, meanwhile I was freaking out and my girlfriend was out in a foreign city alone; all because I left her when she was at her lowest.
I found one of the local bodyguards in Japan and asked him to phone the police.
"Sorry Eddie, they said she hasn't been gone long enough to make a report." He said when he got off the phone.
"What?! That's stupid! She's out there all alone and they won't-"
"I know. But that's what happens. Hold on."
He went to a room and got a pad and a pen. He scribbled something and handed the paper to me.
"Call me tomorrow and I will call the police for you. I know it's hard to wait but we have no choice."
I nodded. "Okay, thank you man. I appreciate it."
He smiled and patted my shoulder. I sulked off to the tour bus, took a hot shower, and laid in Mary and I's bunk, crying into her pillow.
