*Nico's point of view*
I'm sitting on the wooden bench watching my boyfriend dribble maple syrup all over his lap. "If you want, babe, I'll clean that up for you." I attempt to smirk but it comes out more like an embarrassed half smile.
"Sure. But only if we do it with less people around." Will is actually able to smirk. My face turns tomato red.
"I-I didn't mean it like that." I stutter out and hide my face in his shoulder.
"Sure you didn't." He giggles and pokes me. God, why is he so cute?
      "Get a room!" Austin yells.
"Alright, we'll use yours!" I yell back. He laughs and continues eating.
Chiron trots by us. You can hear the sigh escape his lips. He stands up to the podium and clears his throat. "If you haven't yet realized, we have had 6 people come down with a serious illness. We haven't found out exactly what it is, but we have concluded that it is deadly. We advise to stay away from the infirmary if possible, because no research has concluded if it is contagious or not. In an hour, the healers will be giving immunizations. It is required that everyone gets one. Good day and stay safe." He trots away to the big house.
I gulp. Why a shot? It could be a syrup or a spray or something, but no. It has to be something with needles. Will doesn't know about my fear. I don't want him finding out, either. If he does, he'll think I'm a baby.
"Babe, come help me set up." His loud voice makes me jump. I hastily get up and follow him. "Since no one knows if the infirmary is safe, we're going to do it in the cabin." I nod. Well, at least I'll be able to wait on our bed.
He hands me a box of packaged needles and alcohol wipes. "When people come in will you unbox and clean the needles?"
"Yea." I croak out. He looks at me funny and walks to the other side of the room. Kayla, Austin, and a few others come in and start preparing.
A boy from the Aries cabin comes and sits at Will's station. He pushes up his sleeve and I hand Will the needle so that he can insert it into the plunger and add the medicine. He cleans the boys arm and gives him the shot. He groans. Will gives him a sympathetic look. "Sorry, I know it hurts."
That makes me panic more. If it hurts a strong Aries kid, it will surely feel like a butterfly kiss for weak and scrawny me. Please note my sarcasm.
As more and more people file in, I get more and more anxious. Hearing all of the groans and winces is really comforting me.
It's nearly dinner when the last person is done. The only people left are the healers and me. As Kayla is helping Austin, I feel the urge to vomit. I rush to the bathroom just in time for my lunch to leave. Gross. I brush my teeth and splash cool water on my face. Walking out, I see Will getting his shot. As the needle plunges in, I attempt to detect any signs of pain. None.
Will walks toward me. "Ready, Neeks?" He grins. "I'm excited to get to dinner."
As he waits for an answer, I feel the color drain from my face. The room starts to spin. I don't feel good. "Nico? What's wrong?" He rushes over to me and I pass out into his muscular arms.
The room is too bright. I close my eyes and nuzzle into someone's chest. Wait, what? I look up to see my boyfriend staring down at me. "Hey, Neeks. How are you feeling? You've been out for 45 minutes."
I grumble. "I feel terrible. Wait, where is everyone? Did we miss dinner?"
Will nods. "It's kind of late. We should go back to sleep after you get your shot."
Tears well up in my eyes. I lightly shake. "I don't want a shot. Please let's just go back to bed."
Will sighs. "That's why you've been acting weird all day? It's because you're scared of needles?"
I nod. "When I was in Tartarus, I saw things. Bad things. They terrified me." Just thinking about it almost triggered a panic attack.
"Baby, I'm so sorry. I never knew. But please, you have to do this. If you don't, you could die. If you won't do it for yourself, do it for me. Please, I love you." His lips are on mine. We stay like that, unmoving for a moment. But then things get more passionate. We move in harmony. His smooth lips perfectly dancing with my chapped ones. My hands are under his shirt, stroking his back. His are in my hair. We pull away, out of breath. "Are you okay?" He asks and pecks my forehead.
"Yes." I sit on the bed twiddling my thumbs. I tell myself that it will be fine.
Will reaches for the supplies. He rubs my arm with the wipe. He doesn't need to push up my sleeve. My shirt is already off. He places the tip of the needle against my bicep. It doesn't hurt, but it's a tad uncomfortable.  Just as he's about to push it in, his lips are on mine. The sparks going off in me do wonders to mask the pain. Will keeps kissing me until the needle is completely out of my arm.
I gasp. Wow, that was amazing. "Thank you." My nerves feel electrified and I'm a lovely shade of pink. I think about what happened. I think about how I have the best boyfriend in the world.
Will goes to clean up. When he comes back, he's wearing fleece whinnie the pooh pyjama bottoms. He dims the light and crawls into bed. He looks at me expectantly. I lie down next to him. Getting under the covers, I drape my arm across his chest. I quickly fall asleep, but before I do, I swear I hear Will say that he needs me. Ironically, I need him too.
