~My girl, my girl, don't lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don't ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through~
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
A hand with midnight black nails reached out from under a blue bedspread, turning off the distasteful noise that awoke them from their slumber. A mass of black curls bursted into view as a girl of 15 sat up in her bed. Bright blue eyes surveyed the room, noticing the slightly jarred door. Rolling out of her bed, the girl rubbed her eyes and walked over to her closet, sorting through her clothes and picking out an outfit for the day. After choosing a grey sweater 2 sizes too big, and a pair of lavender skinny jeans, the girl dressed herself and put on a pair of rainbow socks. Walking out of her room, quietly closing the door behind her, she turned into the room right next to hers, using force to open the door. Slipping her way into the crack that she could make, the girl walked through the piles of clothing towards a bed where a body lay.
“Dude, Atlas. Wake up!” the girl hissed, shaking the body in the bed.
“Nooooo. Go away Juni!” a muffled voice says from under the blankets
“You’re going to be late for school if you don’t hurry the heck up!” Juniper whined out. Still no movement. Climbing onto the bed, Juniper started jumping around on the bed, barely missing Atlas’ face as she tripped over his leg. falling next to her brother, Juniper rolled over and started breathing on his neck, knowing this is what bothered him the most.
“I’m up! I’m up!” Atlas yelled as he rolled out of the bed, falling to the floor. Standing up as quickly as possible, he walked towards his closet and grabbed a random pair of dark jeans and a Slipknot t-shirt. Before getting dressed he turned to Juniper.
“Do you mind?” Atlas asked, giving Juni a face that was a mixture of disgust and sass.
“Ugh, weirdo.” She groaned, sliding out of Atlas’s room and heading downstairs.
“Does anyone know where my shoes ar- the heck.” Juniper stopped short as she noticed that the kitchen was empty. Her mother was usually cooking breakfast at this time, her father drinking his coffee and reading the paper at the table.
“What time is it..” She questioned herself walking into the living room to look at the clock. 7:00. Right on schedule. Where were her parents?
Hearing a noise, Juni turned as fast as she could, but didn’t see anything. Walking back into the kitchen Juni stopped to see if she could hear the noise again. The sound of a can rolling made her turn to look at the other side of the kitchen island. A can rolled from the other side, hitting the wall and go back the way it came, stopping after a few inches. Slowly walking towards the can, Juni held her breath. Stopping in front of the can, she peered at where it had came from. There, on the floor, was her mother, on her knees, leaning over something. Walking closer, she noticed her mothers shoulders seemed to be shaking, and she was making noises of pain.
“Mom, are you okay?” she questioned, walking up to her mothers back, putting a hand on her shoulder. Like a flash of lightning, her mothers head whipped around, her mouth snapping towards Juni’s hand. Jumping away just in time, she looked at her mother in horror. Her face covered in blood and her eyes a milky white, Juni knew this lady was not the women who had raised her. No, this was a creature of unimaginable terror. Covering her mouth in disgust as the creature stood and dropped the severed foot it had been feasting on, Juni started backing away from the monster. Suddenly it let out a screech from hell and charged. Turning and running away from the beast, Juni ran into the living room and jumped over the couch, tripping on the coffee table and landing on her back, the monster jumped over the couch and fell onto her, trying to rip her apart with its bloody hands. Juni quickly grabbed its wrists and started trying to get her mother off. Juni struggled to push her mother off of her as she tried to bite her, jaw snapping towards her face like a predator catching its prey. Letting go of one of her moms wrists, Juni put her hand on her moms forehead and started pushing her head away.
