Next morning, we set up early and the routine carried on, but unexpectedly as we were cycling, Mia tripped over and fell off her cycle. Her ankle was bleeding badly. Thankfully, Oliver had the first aid kit and had the ointment with him ( benefits of studying medicine perhaps). He bandaged her feet. It was very hard for is to proceed now as Mia couldn't carry herself along and her feet ached. We had to do something despite the lost hope, we couldn't just sit there.
Cesar was the strongest of all the guys so he made Mia sit behind him while Daniel dragged her bicycle with one hand which looked quiet a hard nut to crack.
We travelled this way for two whole days taking turns to drag the bike. Mia's falling caused our journey to become less progressive.
On the fifth day of our travel, we saw a sign board imprinted with large bold letters saying "Santiago de Compostela - 30km"
It lit back the smiles and hope on our dull, gloomy faces. We all talked and enjoyed kind of. I could actually feel the life in me. I was smiling again. Harry and I were getting along again, I couldn't hate him anymore, I was far beyond the level of hate, love or agony or any feeling as a matter of fact I was just into the moment. I was actually unable to fake smiles as I was doing it without struggling. I could talk now. I had to live for Chad.
No-one could replace him but i could socialize and bit and I wanted Chad's memories to fertile in me. Love me the way he did. His presence, I felt. This was my life now. I wad going to think of it as something I'm doing for him. Staying happy for him.
Finally, we reached Santiago and made our way to a motel, where we spent the next day slumbering. Mia visited the doctor ad she was over-conscious that it could be a severe thing. It resulted to be a minor sprain and Oliver was a lifesaver for the bandages. She was well and enjoyed the week's stay to the fullest. Our journey untangled things and jolted others. Was something to be marked in the twisty-turns in my life.
