So, this one is obviously about our (my band and I) first band competition. We sucked. So bad. And I'm not saying that I was perfect, but there were a lot of people who screwed it up so we ended up getting 2nd instead of 1st, we were 0.5 points from getting 1st. And I believe that it was from these two kids, one was a senior, the other was a freshman, and on the very last set they were in the completely wrong positions on the field. It was one of the simplest of forms too. It was a curved line. Like for real? You messed up on that? Wtf? How? It made me soo mad. Only you other band geeks will understand. And my section leader/squad leader whom I look up to dearly thought she sucked because she didn't empty her spit (we play cornet which is like a smaller trumpet for all you non-band people) but I thought she did amazing, and yeah. We sucked at playing some of the time, in Segment B, a clarinet squeaked in the beginning (our clarinets always suck at playing) and our flute section can't keep their spacing because they suck too. My section can even make a freaking diagonal line, the two that messed up at the end were too far over to the right. But I mean, it was our first competition, so I guess I can't really say much. And as bad as our guard (color guard) is, we got the award for best auxiliary. So yeah, idk, we sounded flat and sharp at some times. Our releases were off but I guess we weren't that bad to place 2nd out of 3. 😂😂
