She looked at the plain in front of her. It didn't have anything special, you could even say it was quite empty. There was only grass, perhaps with some flowers thrown on the scenery by mistake, as far as the eye could see.

Even then, the young girl felt at ease. This place was comforting, and welcoming as the sheets of a warm bed. She felt like she belonged here. She could have stayed an eternity.

She looked up to the sky, feeling as if it was calling her. It was slowly taking the colors of a flamme which will soon perish.

But she didn't want this flame to burn out. So she got up and ran, ran again and again, after that glow disappearing behind the horizon. But despite all the running, despite her lungs being on fire, what was now only a glimmer was getting further away inexorably, and her body was getting colder and colder.

So she accepted her fate. She closed her eyes, getting ready to join those who had to stay on the other side, the side where the sun was nowhere to be seen.

She jumped towards the sky which was darkening behind her closed eyes, for a last flight.

The wind was playing with her hair, making it move around as it pleased.

It was getting between her fingers, in the folds of her dress, warmed by the soft rays of the dying sun.

She took a deep breath, and as she open her eyes one last time, she felt as if she was born again. The white light from the star right next to her was comforting. She curl up in this new-found comfort and fell into a deep slumber.

In the white room, the young man's tear fell on the cold hand of his beloved. That's the timing the machine behind him, him who had waited so long for her to wake up, chose to emit a last, never-ending shrill sound, covering the noise of cries.
