{Soulmate AU in which you live in black and white until you meet your soulmate.}

_______

Color.

It is defined as a property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object emits light.

It was something I never thought I would see. Something Ive never wanted or cared to see. I wasn't that boy. I wasn't interested in love, or soulmates. Fables of how beautiful colors were. Colors unlike black and white, colors of beauty, unimaginable. Red, Maroon, turquoise, yellow, peach...what did they mean? What made them different then black and white? People like to farther exaggerate the most far fetched ideas.

But I saw you that day, and in awe, these lights...the waves and flashes, they were beautiful. And the fables made sense to me. You were my light. But you didn't see it did you? I thought, when my mother told me these things, they were just to scare me.
But she was right.
Every once and a while, very rarely, a child is born who finds thier soul mate, but thier soulmate can't find them.
In other words, its not mutual. Its a one way thing. That child, young, tender, and sensitive, he will never gain love.

But I didn't know I would be that child. I stared at you, coffe spilt on the floor. You didn't even see me.

And when you did, you had no expressions.
"Are you alright, sir?"
You couldnt see it.
But I was sure, it was you. You were the source of the colors and light.
And you couldnt even see them.
Crushed.
Devastated.
But I smiled, like it was an accident. And you helped clean me up with a napkin.

Some days, when we talked after that, at that same coffe shop...the way you looked at me, the way you smiled and laughed...i thought that maybe, you could see the colors too.

I was..happy. Even in the slightest.

But that day, when you came in crying and smiling and yelling, the day you threw your arms around me and said it.. Those three words. The colors stopped being a bright beauty, and instead of the light that used to beam so beautiful, they were old, and dull, like I had been looking at them forever.

"I found him!"

Oh, those years that followed were the worst of my life.

And now, as I walk you down the isle, your tears rolling down your soft red cheeks, you look as beautiful as when I first saw you, dressed up in a frilly white dress, smiling at him, and him smiling back at you.

You finally release my hand to grab his, and the warmth is gone, but I waste no time in going back to my seat. If I couldve told you back then, what wouldve been different? Not much, I assume. You would still have found him. And you wouldve loved him. He's charming, really, he's a great man. I am proud. I am proud that youve found happiness [y/n]. So please, for both of us, enjoy these colors, every time the sky is clear and blue, everytime the stars shine at night, and everytime you look into his eyes. Love every second you see these colors, [y/n], love them as much as I love them. Their painfull, and lonely, but they gave me you. And Im proud that you don't have to go through this. Share your colors with him, [y/n].

Don't let him live in black and white.
