But that is just for a short time. Philip became a good man, good husband and a good father. Mary thinks it must be the first and last time her husband will be like that. And so be if.
They live a peaceful life. Erah was already one year old. And her mother gave birth to another baby girl. They named her Venus.
As time past by and years had come, the two girls was sent to school. Erah was now on the first grade of elementary and Venus was in the preparatory school. They were both in the public school. They were happy because they are already three. They had a baby brother, Roi. The two was good in school.They both receive awards and medals. Erah was always in top one and Venus was on the top ten.
Erah was a kind girl,very helpful and can understand everything around her. She always gave way to her sister and younger brother just make then happy. Venus was a good girl too. But not that good. She used to leave all her works to her sister even her homeworks. and for that, she was always scolded by her mother. And for that matter, Venus blamed to it Erah.
After a very peaceful life for about how many years, they did not expect that everything will happen again. Philip became very addicted to all alcoholic drinks again and it was worse than before. He didn't went home for about how many days. And when home, he used to be angry to his children even without any reason. He always threw bad words that hurts her children.
Another thing that's not good was the fact that Philip had no work after the mining company was bankrupt. Their family was just dependent on their coconut plantation that was too long before it bears fruits. And that time, Philip did not have the interest to look for a job to earn money for his family. So Mary and her children ate whatever they have. But they only have root crops. There was a time that they miss one meal because they have nothing to eat.
That was not just their experience. A very big truth was that, Philip was serving a house without any payment . The house was owned by Aimy, their neighbor. Aimy's husband was on the other country working to earn money for his family not knowing that his wife was doing great. Great for her only happiness. It's because Philip and Aimy has a relationship. One time, Aimy's son, Mark, saw them having an affair inside their house. That became a rumor all over the town.
That news was very embarrassing to Mary and her children. Mary can't go outside the house for that she was shy to all the people. Erah, too, was very affected because Mark was blaming it to her especially they are friends and classmates. Mark was always making Erah cry. But that such thing was just nothing to Philip and Aimy. They just laugh at it. Mary did not even became angry to her husband because she love him very much and the fact that she was afraid of him.
