As Lucy and Gajeel made their way back to the party, everyone seemed to be packed into a small group. The group stared at something on the floor. Lucy approached it and couldn't believe her eyes. There, lying on the ground, was Meredy. Her throat torn apart on the side. Blood driping from the wounds. She kneeled down next to what Lucy thought was a corpse and thought of what to do. Jellal came too, and dropped himself next to her. His sister was on the verge of death and he didn't know what to do. He panicked and had no idea how to save her. Suddenly, Meredy took a big gasp of air, waking up from the trauma. By then, and ambulance had arrived to take her to the hospital. Jellal accompanied her and Lucy looked around for Gajeel, who she once again found drinking even though there was police officers around. Then, she tried looking for Natsu but he had disappeared.

Lucy and Gajeel went back home a couple minutes later, for the incident had ruined he mood for everybody. At their house, Lucy went to her room and changed. She stared in the mirror and looked at her reflection. She had always been self-conscious about herself. Her body, her shape, her face. She knew she wasn't ugly, and she didn't think of herself that way, but she wasn't utterly beautiful either. She sat on her bed and the door bell rang. She wondered who could be at her door at such late an hour. She walked downstairs and opened the door. Standing on the porch, was Natsu. He looked down at her and smiled.

"I'm sorry I had to leave. Small problem. But, I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"You know, for months, that's all anyone's wondered about me. If I'll be okay."

"What do you tell them?"

"That I'll be fine."

"Do you ever mean it?"

"Ask me tomorrow. Do want to come in?"

He nodded and stepped inside. We talked and talked for hours. Who knew someone could have so much fun?

'For the first time, in a long time...I feel good' Lucy thought, as she got out of bed and changed for the day. She was certain that today was going to be better. Today was another day and nothing and no one could change that. She went downstairs to the kitchen and saw Gajeel eating some breakfast. Cereal, to be precise, which isn't a very good meal, but remembering how drunk he was last night, he probably had a hang over and was too lazy for life. She grabbed a sandwich Aquarius had left her before she had gone to work. Lucy took it, grabbed her bag, and headed out to meet with her friends.

Over at the café, Erza insisted Lucy shared the smut, that according to her, had happened. But there was no smut to share because nothing of the sort had happened.

"Come on, Lucy. You are supposed to share the smut with us. It's what best friends do."

"But there is no smut to share. Nothing happened last night. We just talked for hours."

"I think that's very nice" said Levy. "I mean, the just met, Erza, give them some time, geez."

"There is no time though! If our lives are boring and hers isn't, then sharing her not-so-boring life with us will make our lives better!"

"Okay, everybody calm down. We just met and were getting to know each other."

"Fine. But, you should definitely go with him to see the comet later tonight."

"I don't know. I'll see later."

Lucy thought about what Erza had said. She was right. If Lucy didn't do anything, maybe all this would be over soon. She grabbed her bag, and went over to the Dragneel mansion once again.
