Elizabeth and the Kingdom of Lights

Your Average 7th Grader

"I wish a was a princess, or something related to that...a unicorn maybe? Oh just make it so I didn't have to go to school and deal with all of this, it's too much. Clara, my sister in high school said that they have so much more work and homework, classwork...and I can't even take what they give us in 7th grade."

Elizabeth finally woke up from her long sleep, making her late for school.

"Long live...long live...mhm." Elizabeth murmured through her sleep. "Elizabeth!" Her mother yelled from downstairs. She unconsciously sat up until her vision was clear and she realised what had happened.

"Oh...please no." Elizabeth woke up and she was far confused since she was dreaming about herself as some type of royalty, from a princess to a unicorn.

"What time...huh? What time.." She rubbed her eyes and peered at her clock. "9:00?! WHAT?!" Her school started at 9:15, and she missed her bus, at 8:55.

"Not today...not today..." She went viciously through her dresser, pulling out clothes and getting dressed rushed and quickly.

"Elizabeth!" Her mother came into her room, shocked about how late she is probably going to be for school. "Your bus left 5 minutes ago and we both know how far we live from school!"

"I...I'm sorry, I..." She stammered, not sure what to say. She simply is very late to school because she was dreaming about a life she just couldn't live. After all, she was just Elizabeth.

It was now 9:05 and she really had to rush.

Elizabeth pulled on her dress and put a jacket over it. She quickly fidgeted with her hair to try to make it seem neat. Grabbing her binders and purse, she ran downstairs and hurried for breakfast.

"You'd better go now." Her brother, Jon said. He was 20 now and he did online school. She got an apple and she sprinted out the door.

Her mother told her about the 9:10 bus that she could use if she was really late. She got on that bus and she panted, worried how mad her Block 1 teacher would be.
