CHAPTER 23 

"The mics all yours Dexter." Ynigo said. 

I heard a sigh from the PA System. Certainly not from Ynigo or Vince. 

My classmates (mostly girls) squealed as I heard a guitar being played. 

OH MY... 

"I can't believe I'm doing this." I heard him say still strumming his guitar. "I wrote this song yesterday, It's for you little girl." 

I felt myself blush. 

Then he started to sing...

Oh winter, winter couldn't come quicker. 

Hope she got the card that I sent her, 

A free ticket to my doorstep. 

I'm a worried man, no I haven't slept. 

I'm writing her and mister santa claus, 

Hoping he could maybe make some calls, 

'Cause she's out of this world, bring it back to me. 

'Cause it's christmas and this is where she needs to be. 

I bowed my head listening to the lyrics. I started to feel guilty. 

He never wrote me a song before. 

"OMG! Dexter sounds like the lead singer in Reckless Heart!" Alice screamed. 

"Oh God! You are so right!" One of my classmates agreed. 

Oh no... This is bad. 

Merry christmas, baby. 

The only thing on my wishlist, maybe. 

You would come back home to me, 

And we could walk the streets 

And they could hear us sing. 

Merry christmas, darling. 

Look at us, you can watch us fall 

In love again, 'cause it's the season 

For us to be together, us to be together again. 

Together again. 

But the song. I love it. I was about to stand up when I noticed Kyla was already beside me. 

"Let him finish. I'll handle everything. Just follow your heart and listen to what he's playing." 

I nodded. 

By the fire with some mistletoe, 

Change quick into my christmas robe. 

Take a walk and we could watch the lights, 

I'm not cold when you're by my side. 

The sleigh bells on my roof keep me up all 

Night, but it doesn't mean a 

Thing, 'cause you're here to see it, 

It just means santa's here for christmas.
