"Alright, (Name). Ready to go?" Your British best friend, Arthur, asked you while heading to grab his coat from the rack. You two were going to the local bookstore to buy some books and spend the rest of the day at your favorite cafe, reading and discussing. Seems fun, right? The only problem was, you where visiting from (Country) were, they drive on the right side of the road. You tried driving on the way from the airport, only to get confused, end up on the other side of the road, and end up having to call a taxi. Arthur hadn't known this fact, and had asked if you wanted to drive. He had driven you everywhere else, and you felt bad you hadn't really done anything, so, you said yes. Now, you curse your kindness.
"Y-yes, I'm ready." You give a weak smile to Arthur and hesitantly take the keys from him. He give you a concerned look, but you open the door, so, he brushes it off. After all, if something was troubling you, you would surely tell him, wouldn't you?
You looked at the your hand, holding the key, which was in the lock position. You can do this, (Name), you can do this...
"Love, are you alright?"
"...No." you mutter. "Pardon?" "I can't drive here, Arthur. I get confused and go to the other side of the road... why do you Brits drive on this side of the road, anyway? It's so confusing!"
Arthur looked irritated for a moment, and you feared he was mad at you, but, then he started laughing. "You're not mad, Artie?"
"Not at all. I understand you come from (Country) and it may be different."
"So, you will drive?" You ask, hopeful.
"For today, I will." You pale and wait for him to finish. "I want you to be able to drive on this side of the road as well."
"What does it matter? I'll just go back to (Country) and be stuck just writing you letters!"
Arthur smirks a smirk that makes you shutter. You knew about your friend's pirate-like past* and knew he could bring it up sometimes. "What if we made this more... interesting?"
". . . Interesting? How so?"
"Like a bet. If you can't learn to drive on the right side of the road, you have to eat a whole plate of my scones. If you can learn to drive, however, you have to make me eat a whole-" he gulps, his face turning pale, "M-mcDonald's meal." He holds out his hand. "Deal?"
"Deal!"
--One Week Later---
You confidently sat in Arthur's car as you waited for him to come out of the house. You had been getting up extra early this past week to take driving lessons. It was slightly embarrassing because you knew how to drive, but eating just one of Arthur's scones would put you in a coma! Not that you would tell him that. You love him to much. Love? Since when was that in the picture? Oh well. You admit you have had feelings for your hot British friend. You finally see him leave his house and join you in the car.
"Ready, love?" Arthur ask.
"I'm ready to see you eat a bag of McDonalds!" You reply and speed off.
-----
"I can't believe... how?" Arthur questions you. "I only saw you drive twice this week..."
"I guess I'm just that amazing, Artie." you giggle as you take the bag of McDonalds from the cashier and walk back to your claimed seats. "Now eat up~"
You watch Arthur take his bite, and take many pictures, making a mental note to send them to Alfred and your guys other group of friends later.
"A-alright, love. I'm d-done with that awful meal." Arthur stuttered, and looked slightly green.
"Was it really that bad?" Your giggle stops when he nods his head slowly, his face turning even more green at remembering the food. You lean over and kiss Arthur quickly on the lips. You look out the window, your face a bright red, for sure. "D-did that make it taste better?"
You look at Arthur out of the corner of your eye as he looks at you before leaning over and kissing you again. As you pull away for air, Arthur breathes, "Yes it did, love. Maybe I should eat this garbage more often~"
