A week later, Adam went back to the same café near where he met Evette. He never tried going to the hospital again to see how she was doing, nor had plans to talk to Frederik soon. He felt the loneliest he has ever felt in his life as a ghost, even if before he met the girl, he barely talked to anyone.
He made his only friend whom he had adventures with, and now she was gone. He was mad also, he wanted to find answers. Why can't they just get him now? Wasn't his mission complete? Wasn't it sending a lost girl back to life?
He looked up to the sky. He was so desperate to get there. Suddenly, all the light from the sun formed a spotlight on him. He knew that this may be his only chance. He knew that it was wrong, but he was so desperate. So, even if the light was not for him, Adam let the light capture him and send him off.
He arrived to the gates of The Heavens, looking for a door or something but it was all white. Then, there was a voice which unexpectedly cranked out from no specific direction.
"What are you doing here?" It said, booming out a full, golden voice.
"Is this God? Why aren't you taking me yet? I've been waiting for so long." He shouted.
"Take you? But my dear, you aren't dead, you're still in a state of comatose. Just like your friend, Evette. You, unfortunately, forgot what had happened. It was too long and a lot of time had been wasted. I did remind you, however, but you kept your heart closed and hard. Here, I will send with you an Angel, Metatron, link of the Divine and Mankind, to help you go back to your body. Hopefully, you already realized that the human life wasn't as puny as you thought. Consider this a second chance, my child.
After a white flash of light, the Angel led Adam to a hospital room in his bed, where he was laid down and was given the chance to live again. He opened his eyes and saw his sister covering her mouth and tearing up.
"Adam! You woke up!" She gasped as she pressed the button and nurses rushed in.
Within an hour, family members and close friends filled the room. They filled the room with a warm atmosphere, love, joy and sincere happiness, things that Adam ached to feel when he was a lost soul. Adam was glad that he now made the right choices. Now, he knew, that life on Earth might appear bothersome, but there is always a meaning and importance for everyone and everything.
A few days later, Adam decided that he will seize this second chance. Sure, everybody deserves it, but not everyone gets it, so he must treasure this last chance. He noted every single detail about his wild trip as a ghost – about Frederic, the wise old ghost, his adventures and his encounters with God and the Angel Metatron, and finally , Evette, that wonderful woman that he never met once in real life, but he felt like he already needed her. He was happy because after Frederic finally completed his final task – to help Adam and Evette, he finally ascended unto The Heavens. But, he really wanted to see Evette, even only for a minute.
So he decided to go back to the place where he and Evette met. The café was still there, the bench, but he was experiencing it in a whole new light. He did not see it at first but there was someone sitting on the bench who looked quite familiar. He walked to the bench.
The girl turned her head to look at him.
"Hey."
Isn't it funny justhow fate itself draws people back together?
