Chapter 1
Robert entered the newly remodeled building and made his way upstairs to where the offices of the lawyers were. He gingerly opened the glass door, not trying to make himself be noticed by all the other lawyers, and walked over to what seemed to be his very own office. He saw his name was pinned up on the front of the door as he walked in. He was dressed in a brownish looking suit with a white shirt and a patterend tie, with of course, his white Louboutin sneakers. He always seemed to dress in an elegant fashion. He was carrying a briefcase, and he slowly put it down on his desk. He didn't bother taking anything out of it because he knew someone would come and get him in any minuete. He proceeded to sit on the chair and crossed his legs on top of the desk.
He had been seated comfortably in his chair, when the secretary, a woman by the name of Amy, knocked on his door. Robert quickly repositioned himself, and looked curiously toward the woman. "Hello, my name is Amy, and I am the secretary at the law firm." she walked over to him and shook Robert's hand. Robert stood up and said, "Hi, I'm Robert, I was called in to come today." "Yes, Mr.Banks is waiting for you in his office, you can follow me this way." She pointed towards the door, then Robert grabbed his briefcase and followed her to an office located right down the hallway. Amy then knocked on the door first, and slowly opened it and whispered to Robert to enter. They both stood inside a very big office, with windows from wall to wall, and one little desk just towards the back wall. There was Mr. banks seated with his back toward the entire room, reading the morning newspaper. Amy spoke up, "Mr.Downey is here to see you now, sir." Mr. Banks folded his newspaper in half as he turned to face them. "Why, hello there, Mr. Downey." He sais in a friendly tone.
"You can call me Robert," He said. "Well than, Robert, you may take a seat," Mr. Banks pointed toward the comfy looking chair in front of his desk. Robert sat down and put his leg on top of his knee. "I have called you in today, because we have a new case that has just been filed, and we want you to take a look at it, seeing that your the right man for this job, I wanted to ask you personally if you would be up for it?" Mr. Banks asked Robert. "Well thank you for that, and I would be glad to look at the new case, do you have it with you?" Robert asked him. "Well here's the thing, I have also asked Susan, she's a lawyer that works in this very building to have a look at it as well, because I wasn't quite sure if you would show up. If you want I can have her bring it over, or I can send you to her office right now, which would you prefer?" Asked Mr. Banks. Robert seemed to have a confused look on his face. He thought about what Mr. Banks said and replied, "I'll go to her right now, seeing as we'll be on the same case, I might as well get to know what she's like when it comes to us being in the courtroom together." Mr Banks smiled at Robert and rose up to shake Robert's hand. "Pleasure doing business with you, and good luck on that case. "The pleasures all mine, thank you." He said, as he made his way out of Mr.Bank's office.
He walked back down the hallway, reading the names on the doors, trying to find which office was Susan's. After passing the fourth door, he saw the name Susan Levin pinned on the door. He walked over to the door, and knocked on it. Susan opened up the door, and saw this handsome looking man standing right before her. She wasn't ever attracted to other male lawyers, but this one seemed different. "Can I help you?" she asked nicely. "Uh, Yes actually, Mr.Banks told me you had the new case folder with you and he asked me to take a look at it. I know you were assigned to this case as well, but would it be alright if I had a look at it when your done." he asked Susan while looking down at the file that was in her hand. "Yeah, I just finished reading it,. You can take it if you want, then later we can go over it." she replied, while handing the folder to Robert. "My name is Robert Downey by the way." he said while holding out his hand to greet her. "I'm Susan Levin, nice to meet you," she said shaking his hand. "Alright well, I'll get back to you." Robert said as he slowly walked away to go to his office.
