6 MONTHS AND 2 DAYS ADS (AFTER DISEASE STRUCK)
Will was standing outside in the cold, he was watching a paper bag floating across the road, it was not really much to do but at least it was something. He was scared, scared for his sister. He was thinking that something bad was going to happen. He had always been able to sense things that were going to happen. Like the time when his friend Ben had been playing football one time, Will had been able to sense that Ben would get hurt; Ben had broken his arm that day. It might have just been a coincidence but Will knew it wasn't, Will had known that he could know when bad things were going to happen. Ben was dead now though, he had been bitten by his Mother after she caught the disease. Ben had had to kill his mother, but he was already scarred by the bite. A couple of days after Ben was bitten by his mother; he started to change, he started to change in many different ways. His sin started to turn a blue tinted pale colour, his veins became a lot more prominent and he also developed a taste for raw meat. A week later, Ben's transformation was complete and he was a full on zombie. He had even tried too kill Will, his best friend.
"Will?" Will spun around and saw the concerned face of Clarissa.
" Oh um sorry! I should probably go back inside, look after the younger kids then?" He mumbled, he felt ashamed, he almost felt like he had let Clarissa down. He started chatting to Clarissa.
Suddenly, without anybody noticing, a woman crept up through the gate into the abandoned airport everyone used as the protected or as most people called it, the pro zone. She was hungry, so so hungry, and she needed flesh and clean, undiseased blood to survive. She sniffed, ah yes she could smell it, she could smell her prey. Even though she had no voice anymore, she was smarter, smarter than she had ever been before and that was the way she liked it. She could tell that it was about 50 feet away from her, and she was going to find it and kill it. She started to slowly creep up, moving towards her target. How she longed to be eating now, to fill that horrible sick feeling that she had in her maggot filled belly. Just the smell coming off of it's skin made her mouth water.
"So.. We have to go into London and search for what exactly?" Will questioned Clarissa.
"We have to go and find medical supplies, Aiden told me that we need to go and find these supplies because its nearly winter and a lot of us will probably fall ill" Clarissa explained "We desperately need these supplies, without them, a lot of us might die"
She was almost there, almost ready to kill, ready to strike. The smell was so strong now, almost so strong she couldn't bare it. I need it, i have to have it she thought. There was always pain where she went, not always pain of other people, she didn't really feel that anymore but the pain that was always consuming her. Whenever she managed to actually find some human flesh to eat, she always felt better for a small piece of time, like every time she ate some of the living, some of her came back to life. If she ate enough then she could sometimes almost feel human again, sometimes she could even recall some of her memories, she knew that her name began with an n. Yes! She was there, now she just had to grab it.
"OK so that's it then?" Clarissa asked
"Yes" Will replied. He heard this weird sound, a kind of noise that someone who was dragging themselves along the pavement would make. He turned around to see who or what was making the noise and to his horror saw a diseased woman. She was missing both her eyes but she appeared to be using her nose and ears to sense where she was. Where her eyes were stood two maggot and parasite filled holes that would make anyone feel ill.
The woman lunged towards Will whilst Clarissa cowardly ran from the scene. Will ducked and moved into a safer position, he then drew out his spear that was hanging from his worn leather belt and slashed at the woman. He managed to hit her arm, blood and pus oozing out of the puncture wound. She was still alive though, she sniffed to get her bearings and then ran towards Will and tried to bite him, Will defended himself just in time, just before she could infect him. He cut her again, this time in the stomach, the woman flinched and staggered backwards, holding onto her injured belly, her insides falling out. Will gagged, he knew he might vomit soon but he kept fighting on despite the gore in front of his very eyes. This time he had to get the spear in the right place, the place where he could finish what he started.
Clarissa ran inside and screamed for Alice. She ran to the dormitories and all around the rest of the building to find her, she had to find Alice. She was terrified, terrified that if Will died it was her fault. She would never be able forgive herself if anything happened to Will, he was her leader and always tried to make sure everyone was happy here. He had been so nice to her when she first arrived. He had taken her in and showed her round, made sure she was eating enough and strong and best of all he had made friends with her. Before the disease came about, she had been a misfit at school, the girl you would have teased, the girl with no friends but Will made her feel welcomed, made her feel belonged.
Alice could hear a girl's voice screaming her name, the voice sounded worried, afraid and panicky, this was bad, very bad. Then a horrid thought came into her head, what if something has happened to Will? What if he has died? Alice knew she had to find who had called her name and why they had. She had been in the store room for quite some time now and found it hard to get up but she knew she had to. She put down the book she had been reading and in a rush opened the metal door that had been sealing her in the room. She ran down the corridor, following the echo of the voice, still wondering who had been screaming for her and why they had needed to. She could not identify the voice since the voice was so anxious and panicky that it was almost inaudible. All she knew was that they were saying her name. Eventually she found the person who had been making the noise. It was Clarissa.
