There she sat, head in a book with her headphones in and cell phone at her side. She was sipping on a forgotten iced coffee which didn't taste quite right, completely engrossed by the pages she was turning. Until...DING! Her phone chimed and vibrated with a notification. She read the message, smiling as she quickly sent her reply. DING! This time, the chime did not come from her phone, but a laptop across the café. DING! The laptop chimed again, insistent that the man sitting before it acknowledge the message. The young man laughed aloud, and every person in the shop looked his way, even the giggling young woman with her phone in her hands. They were laughing at the same joke. DING! This time, her face grew somber as she learned their conversation was coming to a close. The young man was late for work in the local café, where he made an iced coffee with milk for the same young woman every day. There they sat, complete strangers and partners in love, at the same time.
