Charlotte—

That Sunday, we all sat outside. It was hot, like 116 degrees hot. I despised it.

The boys were in the pool, while Herb had food on the grill. Melissa and Jeannie sat in the shade talking, and I sat on the edge of the pool with my feet in.

"Hey, angel, you gonna get in?" Joey called.

I shook my head, "Probably not."

"Why not?" He pouted.

I giggled as the boys all splashed each other. "I really don't feel like getting soaked." I stated.

"Please." He begged.

"I love you, but no." I laughed.

He dove under, and swam towards me. Once he surfaced, his hands wrapped around my ankles.

He smirked, "What if I pulled you in?"

"Then I'll leave you." I joked.

"Baby," he whined.

"I'm kidding. I won't ever leave you, Joey." I smiled.

"So, if I do this..." he trailed off, dragging me off the edge and into the water. My body touched the water and I went under.

I resurfaced, and gently pushed on his chest. "I hate you," I whined, "Now my hair is gonna be frizzy."

He laughed, pressing his lips to mine. "You'll look beautiful. You always do."

"That's not fair though." I pouted, "I didn't want to be wet."

"I wanted to be with you, angel." He grinned, kissing my cheek.

I rolled my eyes, "I'm already marrying you. What more do you want?" I replied sarcastically.

He gripped my waist, pulling me closer to him. He smiled, "I could think of a lot of things, princess."

I giggled and cupped his face. "I love you, and I wouldn't trade you for the world." I whispered, kissing him.

It was silent as we got lost in our own world. It happened often. Just moments of silence between, feeling each other's presence.

"Hey!" Kenny shouted, "I'm sure that mom and dad don't want you making out in their pool."

Joey pulled back, obviously annoyed. He turned around and faced the two. "Screw off, Kenny." He called.

"You aren't as innocent. I went to your wedding." I smirked.

"I want grand-babies one day!" Jeannie called.

Joey looked to Kenny, "Hey, y'all were married first. I just got engaged."

That night, after the Cavs game, we all settled down, and decided to watch movies.

I sat on the floor, with my back against the couch. Joey was laying on the floor, with his head in my lap. Which was nothing new.

I'd run my fingers through his hair, and he would trace imaginary shapes on my thighs. That was just our thing.

"Is he asleep?" Jeannie asked, motioning to Joey.

I bent over slightly, taking a peek at his face. He turned his slightly, meeting my eyes.

I giggled, "Hey, baby."

"Hey, angel." He mumbled.

"You can go to sleep if you're tired." I stated, "You don't have to stay up."

He nodded, "I know."

"Joey, go to sleep, babe. I'll wake you later." I whispered.

"You sure?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yes. You get some rest baby."

"I know I don't probably say it as often, but I love you so so much. I couldn't imagine my life with God placing you in it, and I'm so glad I met you over four years ago." He replied.

"I love you too, Joey." I smiled, "You can't fathom the love I have for you. Now, get some sleep."

"Please." Donald whined, "Enough with the sappy moments."

Joey scoffed, "I can't tell my fiancée that I love her?"

"You can, just not like that. Jeez. Y'all are sappy and it's annoying." Donald remarked.

"You're annoying." Joey responded.

"Boys!" Jeannie scolded, "Just like when you were kids."

I giggled, "Haven't I told you how annoying siblings are?"

His smile fell as he realized that I quoted him, and it backfired on him. I laughed and leaned down, connecting our lips.

I watched as Joey stepped out of the bathroom, and into our room. He ruffled his wet hair a little with the towel before tossing it into the hamper.

I smiled, "Your hair looks cute when it's wet."

"You always look cute," he attempted to wink.

I giggled as he climbed into bed. He gently pressed his lips to mine before snuggling into the blankets.

"You know, when we get back home we have to start discussing our wedding." I sighed.

He smiled, "We can do it. It can't be that hard."

I rolled my eyes, "You're definitely something else, Joseph Stamper."

"As are you, Charlotte Shelton." He smirked, "My beautiful angel."

"I do have a few ideas for the wedding though." I stated.

"Like what?" He asked.

"We should the wedding in warm weather, since I know how much you hate the cold. I was thinking maybe March?" I shrugged.

"I like it, but it's still cold in March." He whined.

"What about June, or late August?" I suggested.

"It'd have to be next year. They're too close now." He muttered.

I nodded, "I know. I'm fine with it."

"How about August? Whatever you want, angel." He smiled.

"August sounds lovely." I agreed.

I yawned and snuggled into Joey's body. He gave a quiet laugh, and wrap his arms around me, holding me against him. He pressed a kiss to my forehead before I buried my face into his neck.

"We'll talk more when we get home. You get some rest." He whispered.

"I love you." I mumbled.

"I love you too, princess."
