It hurt like hell, at first. He couldn't believe that it even happened. He thought she loved him, apparently she didn't. He trusted her, and what did she do? She took his trust and slept with every single guy she could. Ricky was  strong person, and he knew he'd be okay but it still hurt so much. It felt like he was suffocating for a while, and she had the nerve to leave him and not even bother as so much as a genuine sorry. She shuffled out some bullshit excuse and expected him to believe her after all the lies she told. She expected him to forgive her, like hell that was going to happen.

"I just don't think it's working between us anymore. I'm sorry Ricky." She explained, not looking him in the eyes. He felt a dry lump in his throat as he just stared at her.

"Are you kidding me?" He asked, letting the anger seep into his tone. Ricky wasn't known to be an angry person, or to lose his temper but he was damn near close this time. She shrunk under his hardening gaze, completely unaware that he knows about her having cheated on him multiple times.

"I-I'm sorry Ricky. I love you, but it just doesn't feel right." She explained in a shaky voice, jumping when he stood suddenly.

"Maybe it doesn't feel right because you kept fucking other guys!" He snapped, his voice growing louder. Her eyes widened at his statement, he knew? She stood, backing away from him and towards the wall.

"You knew." She stated, her fingers moving to grip her bag. Ricky glared over at her, feeling nothing but anger for how much time and energy he spent on her for her to just sleep with other guys and leave.

"Yes I fucking knew. And now what, you're just going to leave?" He says angrily, moving towards the door. She shook as she stood in the corner of the room, not knowing what to do.

"Where are you going?" She asked him in a trembling voice.

"Nowhere, but you are. Leave." Ricky snapped, feeling his heart and chest burning. She gripped her bag as she stood, moving towards the door. Ricky waited impatiently as she stood in the doorway.

"Ricky I really am sorry. As soon as I slept with someone else, I should have told you. I shouldn't have strung you on." She explained, moving closer to him. He let out a deep breath as he leaned away from her.

"Just go." He said, softer this time. She nodded, gripping her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. She steps out onto the patio, hearing the door click shut behind her.

*1 year later*

Ricky stood, laughing with his friends along the pier. It took him a long time to feel okay again, he was constantly afraid of accidentally bumping into her when he was out. So for a couple months, he didn't really go out much at all. He stayed in his house, isolated. It was unhealthy, and so his friends drug him out of the house and slowly, he began to heal. It still hurt sometimes, if he was alone and thought about it for too long. So he occupied his mind with YouTube, or his friends and he eventually forgave and moved on.

So Ricky stood, laughing with his friends along the pier. He adjusted his bandanna as he smiled at something that Connor said. He licked his lips as he moved from the various shops along the sandy beach.

She stood along that very same pier as she let her eyes land on him. Her heart broke at seeing him, he looked genuinely happy. Like he had really forgotten about her. She wanted to go to him, but she stopped herself and simply move forward. She wanted to leave as soon as she could. But before she could turn out of the pier, she knocked into someone.

"I'm so sorry!" She squeaked at the long torso.

"It's fine! I wasn't looking where I was going." She heard a voice say. A very familiar voice. She let her eyes drift up as she locked eyes with him.

"Oh hey! I didn't recognize you!" Ricky said to her with a smile, causing confusion to run through her.

"But I have to go find my friends or else they'll leave without me. So I'll be seeing you!" He said with a gentle smile as he turned to scan the crowd. She watched him walk away, her meeting with him over as soon as it happened. She felt her heart burning, silently wishing that he would just come back. But he didn't and she knew he wouldn't so she let him go. She let her hands fall to her sides as tears welled up in her eyes and cascaded down her cheeks. Something about the way he behaved told her that he would never let her into his heart ever again, but she wished he would. She really did love him and she still does. So she stood, motionless on the pier as she watched his red shirt slowly disappear in the crowd. She watched him as he found his friends and laughed along with them as a group of girls came up and joined them. She watched with a breaking heart as he connected his hand with one of the girls, and as he pressed a kiss to her lips. She turned as more and more tears drifted down her cheeks. She sucked in a sharp breath as every part of her heart ached.

She turned again, letting her eyes fall on his disappearing figure as she let one broken word fall past her lips.

"Goodbye."
