(Dahlia's POV)

"Dahlia, come on, wake up," a soothing voice purred into my ear. I opened my eyes and yawned. I was so bloody tired. The guys had played a show and had gone out to drink late into the night, towing me with them. I glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. 8:30. I might have had maybe two or three hours of sleep.

"Leave me alone, Andy. We humans need our sleep," I mumbled, turning away from him. Stupid vampires and they're unholy stamina.

"Don't be like that, babe. Come on. Wake up and dress nicely. My parents are home from their trip and they're going to meet you."

At the word "parents", I sat upright, nearly smashing into Andy. I forgot that even vampires had families. To add to my nervousness, I was going to meet adult vampires. Andy was a natural vampire, meaning he was the son of two vampires. Whether his parents were true or natural, I didn't know.

I took a quick shower. It was nice to take a shower in a real bathroom instead of a cramped tour bus one. I emerged from the bathroom several minutes later, smelling like lemons. I blowdried my dark red hair. My hair was starting to become a nice auburn color, though Andy said he liked how red it was. I dressed myself for meeting Andy's parents. I put on something nice, but not too fancy. A black dress, lacy leggings, and a leather jacket. I remembered the ring and slipped it on my finger.

"You look beautiful," Andy complimented me, hugging me from behind. I smiled. I wondered how many people envied me right now. They were living their boring lives while I was in the presence of a rockstar and an oh-so powerful vampire. If you don't know what I was talking about, refer back to Book 1 My Sweet Little Demon.

Andy was a total god. He was dressed from head to toe in black and white and red. His hair, feather and long, fluttered to his shoulders. His face was free of its usual charcoal makeup. His eyes, polar blue, were more gorgeous than the most brilliant of stars. He smelled like cinnamon and vanilla, the signature scent of the undead. He was handsome, with a face that not even a skilled artist could replicate. His voice was dark and shadowy. His skin was like snow, cold and ivory white.

"Not next to you," I laughed softly. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and kissed my cheek.

"I think I look pretty ugly next to you," he murmured, his cool lips still against my skin. It made me shiver, but in the good way.

"I feel nervous. What if your parents don't like me?" I whispered, rummaging through my bag of makeup. I decided on a delicate shade of pink lipstick.

"They'll love you. You're everything they could ever hope for in their only son's girlfriend," he assured me. There was a soft knock on the bedroom door. Andy went to get it while I applied a light layer of makeup.

"Andy, just let me see her." I recognized the voice. It was Ashley, the other person who had magically imprinted on me. I was special in that way. Usually, a person was only imprinted on once. Instead, I got two potential mates to choose from. Lucky me, I guess. I had chosen Andy, but that didn't stop Ashley from trying to win me over.

"Wow!" Ashley exclaimed when he saw me. He gave me a quick hug while Andy was occupied with looking for his pack of cigarettes.

"You look really pretty, Dahlia. Like an angel," Ashley praised. I blushed and smiled.

"I think I hear my parents downstairs. Come on!" Andy took my hand and pulled me downstairs, with Ashley behind us.

I could smell the strong aroma of black coffee and the soothing fragrance of tea flowing from the kitchen. When we entered the room, I was greeted by a bird-like woman with red violet hair. She was short, only a little bit taller than I was. She had a pleasant, youthful face. She was obviously Andy's mother. They shared the same chilly blue eyes.

"You must be Dahlia! My, my, you sure are beautiful!" she chirped. She gave me a tight hug before passing me over to an older man. He had a happy sort of face. Andy's father gave me a grin.

"So you're my son's mate now. He sure knows how to pick them," he chuckled, ruffling my scarlet hair. I giggled as I tried to rearrange my hair.

The rest of the band crowded into the room one-by-one. They all muttered greetings to everyone. That's what a night of hard drinking will do to you. Good thing I could handle my alcohol. I helped pour tea and coffee for everyone. I kept my eye on both Andy and Ashley. They seemed to be getting along decently. Occasionally, Andy shot Ashley a hypothermic look. Sometimes, Ashley gave Andy a hateful glare. At least they weren't tearing each other apart.

The others were up to their own devices, eating breakfast quietly and rubbing their sore heads. Jake had a glassy stare in his eyes while he sipped his coffee. He was watching his mate, Ella. She was mortal, so in his eyes, she needed constant supervision. It was how he spent most of his time when he wasn't playing his guitar.

Jinxx was sitting beside Ashley, ready to incapicitate him if needed. He was calmly sipping tea and flipping through a book of pictures. Each picture was of him and a young woman who had red and black hair. She was gorgeous, with a jovial face and bright eyes. Something in me figured out that she was Jinxx's mate, the one that nobody talked about and the one who was stuck in a permanent vegetative state.

CC was leaning back in his chair, rubbing his temple. I guess even vampires had their share of hard hangovers. His face was still streaked with lines of dark makeup and his lips were tinted black. He really needed to be cleaned up.

Overall, the morning passed by peacefully. Andy's parents interrogated me, but in such a good-natured way, I didn't even care. Andy made a point of kissing me and putting one muscular arm around my shoulders. Ashley gave me subtle winks when Andy wasn't looking. Simple things like that made me feel all warm and happy inside.
